new siege problem?

Whilest in siege this night, me twas up against the enemies gate, an me got ported inter their castle. A couple other players in our guild had the same experience. Anyone else findin this experience? Tisn't a skill (or hack) on our side. Those who got ported twere different classes. The only thing we saw the same twas a Champion/Rogue on the other side. Be there an issue wit their class? Me tis only throwin out idears.
As fer our opponents, me doth offer apologies ter yer, me thought that yer Champion pullered me thru the gate. Me hateth cheats an hacks as much (maybers more) than any other legitimate player.

Comming into the guildcastle while all gates are up.

I had a good time during todays siege wars.. Today the SeigeWar battle was video'ed and recorded so once it's uploaded to Youtube we'll see how you and others got inside without taking down the gates.

Over all It was a Fun and exciting SeigeWar looking forward to doing it again.

I know 1 thing Lemonater, your guild was kicking our butts outside the castle so there was no reason to pull you in our castle to kick our butts some more. But great SW.

True that, so, conversely, there no twas any reason fer us ter cheat either since we twere winnin. Yer guild twas puttin up a great fight, an a great defense. Me doth looketh forward ter our next fight.

Me would liketh ter know iffn anyone knows how we may have gotten ported in through their front gate. We weren't feared (the most common thing blamed).

There are skills in game that pulls a player towards you, or pushes them away. But I have no idea if they allows the player to actually go through a gate. I've only seen it happen before once.

In this case, imo, the main thing that matters is what you did once you were inside their castle. If you went around destroying buildings & killing people, then that is a big no-no. If you stood there and had them kill you so you can rez out, imo, that would be fine.

Although honestly, I'd believe Lemon that they were innocent. Otherwise they wouldn't be posting here.

This is refreshing - a thread where opposing guilds are trying to work out what happened rather than blame each other for hacks and/or cheats.

Congratulations for using that rare thing nowadays - common sense.

I look forward to see where your discussions take you & what conclusion you guys reach as to how the problem arose. :)

I was the other player pulled into the gate during our siege last night. No buildings were attacked. I stopped my normal attacks once i realized I was inside the gate looking at all of their players defending their gate.

What was odd...

I had time to say let me out of here a couple of times, and for them to say they were recording and posting to YouTube, but then I was kicked from game. No chance to view combat log... SO how I got there may never be known.

I can tell you though.. Lemon is a priest and I am as scout, so no common skills on our end to jump through the gate.

Was a good siege to that point... Crazy was driving me nuts when his healer was keeping up with him.

Although the Champion one looks like it can be done... it doesn't, at least when I have tried it with my champ. But hey, something could have changed with a patch recently and now Champions can pull through a gate ... haven't really tried that one since I first started playing him. The p/wl one though is out of the question since it says friendly target and therefore one of Lemonater's guild mates would have to already been inside the opposing team's castle.

Hope it helps to figure this out!

Well.. Lemon would have been playing a p/s or a p/r, not for certain.

And to complicate the matter... we were not both in the castle at the same time. It happened several minutes apart from each other.

They did have a champion in siege if I recall correctly.

Assuming the cause is actually a skill used, that's not going to make catching legitimate hackers hard, or keeping legit players from getting banned difficult....

"our champion saw you get inside our castle while all our gates are up! you're a hacker!!!!"....hopefully this shz won't lead to bans.

And if it means anything, range on Rune Draw (champ skill) is 150. Not that far away so it might be tricky to port an enemy inside castle unless they're in front of the gate

I was beating on the front gate when i got pulled inside. Cant remember if at the time I was being bounced around like a pinball from flames and electrics or not, but most likely, because their gates were defended quite well. But, I was very close to the gate when I got pulled inside.

If the flames caused you to just "walk right through" the gates, its possible that this is a rare case of when people jump down from the rez point on the top of the castle onto the back castle wall, and fall inside the wall. Sometimes, solid things in RoM aren't always very solid.

Since jump from rez point to back wall happens hundreds of times in a siege, it happens more often, whereas opponent players running and crashing into your castle gates or walls don't happen hundreds of times in siege, and so this happens much less often.

Hmmm... possible.

But twice in one siege.. and never ever happened before last night.

Was it a full moon last night... that would explain everything... But I'm pretty sure that was last week some time.

I'm really interested to see the video and to find out how it was done, of course not if it's an exploitable way though (we don't need more of that in siege). I'm curious if it is just textures not working correctly or if it was done on purpose, though it doesn't sound like it was since the "pulled" players didn't wreak any havoc once the got in.

We stopped lemonator while he was standing on our proc and had it down 10%. That is the reason why no damage had been done.

I can tell you with 100% certainty this was not a cheat / hack and needs to be investigated. I would love to see the video and what they saw from inside their castle. Not sure it will shed any light on what happened.. but interesting nonetheless.

From my side, I did nothing different in siege than normal. Spam attacks.. cry about my healer not healing enough.

And furthermore... I'm a scout. We all know what kind of havoc a scout can do upon entering a castle....

Fix the scout please!

Weird, I've never heard of something like that happening before. I'd rule out anything related to backports, that would require having been inside the castle a bit earlier. Spirit Jump also doesn't fit, it only works on friendlies. Rune Draw is capable of pulling an enemy close (including enemy players), except that to my knowledge it requires line of sight, which is blocked by the gate.

There's a not that uncommon modification that negates the line of sight issue for the caster. In theory this would explain perfectly what happened, except that the champion would have to be really braindead to use this several times in a known recorded session, for no obvious benefit. So, ruling out foul play, let's try to get some more data to work on:

- Did only one player get ported in at a time or several at once?
- Was it like walking through the gate or a sudden jump over some distance?
- Any chance you could have received a popup that was confirmed automatically?

I've noticed that walls and gates have been a bit glitchy in siege recently. I've been rubberbandin and skip jumpin like mad just trying to round a corner on a stairwell or tryin to get out of a friendly gate. It's possible that with the inner castle defences, it could just be a random glitch from all the effects taking place on the player when approaching the gate. I'll try to test my priest/wl tonight to see if it can't pull friendlys through and I'll test my champ whenever I get somebody to agree to some tug of war action
