Well we faced Unum from Osha last night, second time in a week and totally no show guild once again. Would be nice for guilds who are no shows to get a 2 week ban from registering for siege. We do siege to fight oponents not ghosttown ;-(
We took the time to show our lowbies and new players where to put defenses on our towers and bridges, but still.
Anyways it would be nice to have a solution for no show guilds

Unum is a level 5 guild with a total of 5 members. I don't recognize the name of the guild leader, so I'm going to guess that it's a relatively new guild and it could be a group of newbies. I just don't happen to know for certain, one way or another.
You have to take the mediocre along with the good and bad, Zid. I'd much rather have a no-show guild than be matched against one that's going to stomp us into the ground in 10 minutes. (I'm looking at you, PPK.) At least with the no-shows, we can practice tactics, and as you said, teach new players how and where to put defenses.
There have also been times when I've gone up against a terribly under-represented guild or a guild so new that it squeaked. We have occasionally tried and successfully chatted with these less-than-powerful guilds and shown them How It's Done, taught them some of the tricks of the trade, and (hopefully) made some friends, even if they're from other servers.
Good Siege Shoutout:
As it happened last night, we went against Illuminae (Osha) and had an absolutely great siege against them. We're old friends and adversaries. They've gained a few new members recently who have turned what once was an almost walkover for us into a thrilling time. Illuminae kept us on our toes for virtually the entire 60 minutes and we managed to get a win within the last 10 minutes when it had looked as if it was going to be a tie.
