We need more player slots in siege!!

Today was the best Siege ever... we had 9 players in, while the other guild had 35 players. I'll tell you what, they needed a lot more players in. It is totally okay if you bring in all of your alts, and upgrade everything in one fail swoop, we appreciate it. So I'm saying, just bring them all in, hell why not combine two guilds against us. We got this, while I'm getting hit by multiple people through gates trying to keep them all out. I truly think that this was not enough of a challenge for my guild, so instead of just Honor Guards killing our gates, why don't we bring in bosses from the new instance to take a chunk out of us. Clearly we do not have enough odds stacked against us, you really need to add more challenges to just drive my guild down into the dirt. Instead of rewards at the end of siege, just throw in some kind of horrible plague to spice things up! Thanks for good siege everyone, I'd add cupcakes and sparkles, but you guys already know you rock!

I'll give you more details to this sw, cause we have had it happen before & it seems to be happening more. A few days ago we faced a guild in the 800 point range, we had in 6 to there 30, they actually had 16 fighting us while 14 where by there castle somehow collecting 1k to 2k merits with 0 damage & 0 crystals farmed. 1 player did all the upgrading & had everything to lv7 within 15 minutes into sw. Tonight's sw we had 9 versus there 35 in the 1k point range, out of there 35 in, 14 where fighting & 21 where alts farming 1k to 2k merits with 0 damage & a couple with some crystal farmed, & again 1 player upgrading everything to lv7 within 15 minutes.
You may say there is nothing wrong with it, but look at the point, we are avg or alittle above avg geared players with 3 to 5 years of sw experience versus tonight's guild having 3 players over 500k hp, a couple over 400k & 300k & 200k hp. Trying to kill those players was a task itself. Then you add the person sitting in the castle upgrading everything all 21 alts are farming is a huge disadvantage to the guild who is actually playing the damn game you created. Siege War is fun when players vs players is going on, but add alts just sitting around somewhere collecting merits is stupid, go out & get your own damn merits & fight.

I love it when the opponent has like a million people in siege beating our gates... epic epeen spamming T-storm. Can't wait for another siege like that to try it on M/W with 25% Mdam and 25% crit damage... mmmm... should be fun.

I know a lot of guilds employ a base of fire towers and electrics out in the middle of the balloon fields which draw the balloons in and kill them. they station afk alts there to "collect" the merits. I think this may be how toons gather merits without crystals or doing damage. Not saying anything about the tactics mentioned by the OP, just providing an explanation for one of the points.

Whatever happen to the days it was create your character, build him up & go into sw & fight as you collect merits yourself? Now its create multiple characters & having them sit around collecting merits for you as your fighting on your main character. Oh wait, 10+ players in your guild are doing the same thing? that's fair. Just show up with your main character people, stop taking advantages of something this game didn't realize would upset others.

I for one do bring in a few character to sw, all for the purpose of fighting however. Whatever the reason is, Siege is meant as a game of not only strength, but wits, for people to learn strategies to overcome your opposition. If someone is too lazy to take the time to learn and utilize these strategies for themselves and their guilds, then they just complain about someone else who works at it learn these things. So many people complain about so many different things in siege war and it all comes down to this.... Short of hacking, you are able to do the exact same anyone else in sw can do. Someone has more gear then you? Farm more. Someone runs faster then you? Use more buffs. Or in this case, someone collecting more merits then you? Figure out a way however you can to farm more yourself, within the rules of the game, lots of undiscovered sw strats are still out there. Go find them.

You make me smile sir, I was never accusing anyone of hacking. I was simply trying to understand why a guild need more alts in the game than actual players who fight? How is this an ethical battle? I could put in an alt or two and fidget around with them during siege, making my entire guild suffer with a distracted healer. I could also crash constantly during siege because I want a few extra merits. In specific battles in the past (no names mentioned) someone had "MANY" accounts on at the same time and used all of the merits for an instant upgrade to all defenses. If you are in a siege with 35 vs 9, and you were doing everything in your power to keep the gates up and the enemy at bay, wouldn't you be disappointed to see all of the opponents do an instant upgrade and drag the honor guard in to take down the gate? I know that these tactics are used and are not illegal, it would be a lot nicer if those guilds would just come to battle to fight legitimately not massage the system. But whatever, its like the wild wild west, we might as well all just go wild. It is not as if the GM's are actually making any moral decisions on this game. Just keep telling yourself you are in the right, I think you deserve a cupcake for your wits, even though something is allowed, it does not make it the right thing to do.

If you notice the name of this event, it is called Siege "War", there are no morals in war, there can be respect like RoM asks of us, but otherwise, its a battle, you do your best to win, if you don't do your best you lose, that simple. I never mentioned that you were complaining about hacking, I simply stated that; if you're frustrated with what someone is doing in siege war because the tactic outsmarted you, learn the tactic yourself instead of qq'ing about it...

I know R2P well, he is in the wrong guild on Indigo but he is still a great guy. I have fought his guild many times in sw and I have never seen nor heard of them hacking. I'm not saying mistakes don't happen, we had a guildy for whatever reason destroy a thrown through the walls a few months back. So I had to apologize to the other guild and ask them if they wanted to tie since we messed up. Then we yelled a lot at our member to make sure it never happened again. I have no desire to get involved in the discussion about ethics of war on a video game but just wanted to vouch for avengement as they are good people and a fun guild to fight.

You have to remember that siege is modeled after the game itself. The people that have better computers (or multiple ones) can run more clients. Therefore, they can run alts and their mains at the same time. It's the same as people who pay for diamonds are able to upgrade their gear to become OP.

If you are in a siege where the other team has more than 30, most likely many are going to be alts at the castle or home towers farming and defending. There are several different ways to combat this, specifically get to their home towers and farm those alts and towers. Most times those alts are easy to kill and take out before reinforcements arrive, so send a few rogues or a strong tank out there to cause some chaos. There are other tactics to try but the best thing is to run in groups and stay together. Two well-geared players in a group of 4 can wreck a lot of havoc at a tower.
