To the nay-sayers ... if you go to the base forums listing, and look under the crafting section ... you'll see Carpentry ... and what's that underneath it?

Carpentry
Furniture, Bows, Staffs post here!
Yep, there it is Furniture... anyway

So, I was thinking of grabbing and grinding up Carpentry for the possibility of crafting up some furniture for the castle whenever our guild gets there ^^

I would prefer to see some furniture that are purely decorative in the low level craft levels, and eventually at higher levels (51+) some furniture that has some effects on them, but make them be green+ quality. The main thing I could say is that at 51+ the recipies are like other craft skills where you have to craft the white version first then use more materials and the white version to make the higher quality furniture ...

On that as well, could make it so that (if it ever gets to this point) purple quality carpentry furnishings are bound to you (or your account if you don't share houses within the same account, I don't have a second character to test LOL) ... and have those quality furnishings have comparable or even exceeding bonus' from the furniture on the cash shop ... but to do that of course, I'm sure that they'd prefer the purple refined recipies be sold in the diamond shop only.

i would love to see carpentry drawn out more. i too picked it up thinking i'd be able to make furniture, but i was disappointed by level 21.

Housing requires energy to add more space. They just added planting which requires 3 slots if you decide to do what i consider the minimum.
Add in the free chest, whatever items you may have bought with your free 20d, and you've still likely got 4-5 open spaces for your house.

Those of us who are short on RL money/don't CS and things like this, we're just wasting those spots. Vanity items are spiffy and neat but don't really accomplish much.

On top of that, arguably the best bow recipes in game are low level blacksmithing recipes. Lolwut?

i would like to make a formal request to mods/devs right now:

Please, give us furniture recipes for Carpentry?

Pro's:
-Stimulate the crafting market in game. (Currently it's for the lulz)
-Create a new element of gameplay, one which could ask the player to help the guild castle in a new way. Maybe recipies that have minimal effects but don't lose their bonuses after putting them into the castle. Help the guildies publicly/on a mass scale?
-Add another list of things to consider successful about RoM; the thing i personally love about the game is in itself the house. Please add more functionality to it.

Con's:
-Ummm...
-None that would be an irrational addition of development projects.

Logically, it makes sense to do this. At least to me.
Fingers crossed.

Amen. I would visit my house, if it had more then a loli house maid, and one chest. The fact I can't get any furniture unless from phirius/cash is totally bogus. I don't care if the looks are totally cosmetic, either. IF I could drop a bearskin rug, a nice bed, an amoire, a vanity or desk, tables and chairs, and deck out my pad like EQ2, I would totally spend money on cash shop to get cooler items to spruce it up and give bonuses. But as it stands, housing is an afterthought unless you want to spend cash. Please, help out the carpenters, give furniture at low levels. Even CRAPPY looking stuff. Thanks!

Shimus ... you realise most of the house maids in the towns (not the one in your house) sell furniture that does nothing other than add a look/feel to your house ...

But yea, I really hope chapter two brings us some much needed furniture recipes...

There's definitely furniture recipes available... I found this one last night: http://romdata.getbuffed.com/?i=551177 Now my problem is finding the white/green/blue recipes that lead up to it. Anyone know where to buy/farm for them?

Inside the Tempest Heights instance, I've gotten the blacksmithing white "box" recipie, and the green carpentry one ... I've gotta find the white one now -.- ... didn't know we had that, and I guess I'll be farming that up too.

Unfortunately the tempest heights thing is only open twice a day for an hour ... and usually in the case of Artemis, there's usually people waiting right at it when it's supposed to open, they then clear it out quickly, then go in and start AOE farming everything in there ... not picking up the low end chests (which causes SEVERE lag and memory loss... Devs should have it so when that instance closes, the chests are cleared out ... I walked in one day and well ... it wasn't a pretty sight ... I crashed twice just trying to clean up the place while others killed away)

On a furniture note - I'd like to see some dark, moody furniture. A pile of skulls. An orb that says 'Hi, I'm a mage' (figuratively speaking, probably by shooting out lightning, etc). I've noticed they don't really have anything like that and I think they're missing out on a lot of interesting stuff.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul." - Billy Madison (movie)

No one on the international forums answered my question about furniture.

But...if you look in the Acropolis(or other large 2.1 patch) notes, you'll see mention that materials were added/fixed for "boss furniture".

I guess no one has any idea?

First, read the database sites.

Second, only furniture i see is boss drops
boss drops either complete furniture (VERY low chance)
furniture special material (low chance)
furniture recipe (low chance)

the only thing that is missing to craft them then is the craftsman chests
and as far as i can tell you need to be level 50 to acquire the recipe for them

so can someone confirm how you can get hold of those chests ?

Well, you'll have to pay diamonds to buy more "Energy" for your house... It's on the little toolbar box at the top left corner of your house when you go in there... There is a little icon in the row of icons at the bottom of that little box - I think it's the second or third icon in the row - called "Energy". You pay diamonds to buy more energy, then you go on another icon next to that one, and tell it you want to buy more furniture slots.

I've already gotten many of these chest recipe.
They can be obtainned throught the second malatina game (the course of terror), or the tempest height instance (the one that open only twice a day for 1 hour south west of obsidian).

The royal (boss) fourniture recipe can be obtained from the apropriate boss or from the course of terror special chests

.Actually all the craftable furniture are only cosmetic, and chest recipe are not storage chest but part of other recipe.

although..who really spends alot of time in their house? until housing bonuses are fully implemented..people just go in to store stuff/change class..in their house for no longer than a minute.

Considering that you can get TP bonuses and crafting bonuses in your house, many people spend more than just a minute in their house.

Crafting Furniture is an active in-game feature now. It is all boss furniture, requires lots of mats (including a special mat available only as a drop from a specific boss). There are no bonuses associated with these pieces of furniture, they are for "looks" only. I have made two of each of these furniture recipes: Ice Plain Mammoth Sample and Silent Harp. The first, I believe is dropped by Rhyst in Dragonfang Ridge, the second by Goddess of Art's Disciple in Kalin Shrine. There are many more recipes that I have but haven't found the boss-drop mats for yet. Also, Blacksmithing, Armor Crafting, Tailoring, and Carpentry all have furniture recipes.

It's silly to have to point out but Runes of Magic is labeled as an MMORPG - There are people who role play in this game and even some who don't, who do use their houses and would certainly, as it's been previously stated, love to have a well decorated and nice looking house regardless.

Adding furniture that players can craft would open up the economy, promote the RP in RPG and perhaps even draw in new players. I know someone mentioned the CS issue and I, as a gamer and a role player, would have no problem putting items in my house that didn't grant bonuses. Leave the bonus granting items a CS thing and the game is still making money. Maybe allow for the decorative furniture to have no energy cost, to offset the lack of bonuses.
