Worth making mana and health pots?

I have noticed NPCs selling mana/health pots and i noticed the very cheap price on both. I checked out the mats needed to make the same pots and saw how it was not even worth while making these pots because of the NPCs selling them so cheap.
I am only a lower lvl alchemist but I was just wondering if later on will the NPCs stop selling these pots or will they continue to sell them at such a cheap price as where alchemist making these pots cant even compete against their prices...

No it is not worth it for the starting ones, just make enough of those to level to the next level (recipe) and keep going. You really won't see the bennifits to Alchemy until much higher levels.

Just another thing I will say and this is just my opinion.

If you are doing Alchemy for the money then you might as well stop now as there are very few if any that sell well at all. However if you are doing it to help out your guild then go for it. Again that is just my opinion.

Yeah for most of the games i play i usually go with alchemy for the reason being because consumables are cheaper and sell in big amounts but its just ridiculous how cheap they go for and how even then they don't sell.
All the other profesions are pretty much useless as well other than to help the guild out.

Vendor Sold Pots are NOT Alchemy Created Pots

They are NOT the same. Read the descriptions very carefully.

The healing and mana pots you can make with starting alchemy are instant restoration salves -- Basic Healing Potion (Heals 200 HP instantly, no HoT effect), Basic Spirit Potion (restores 200 mana instantly, no HoT effect)-- These potions can be used at the same time as the vendor bought Healing/Mana potions. Vendor sold potions have a 15 second cooldown, alchemy made potions have a 60 second cooldown, and you can have both cooldowns ticking at the same time.

These 2 items are NOT vendor sold. You will NEVER see a Vendor selling them. If you find a vendor selling them, please send Arienne a tell on the Artemis server because I would drop alchemy in a heartbeat and just BUY them from a vendor.

On a side note, you will probably always find the mana potions being sold for 3 times the price of healing salves because for some reason, the devs decided to make the mana potions cost 3 times the materials to make as opposed to the healing salves. Where healing takes bundles and sand, mana takes sap and nuggets.

I noticed that the lower-end pots are only worth making because they stack well with the ones you buy from the vendor (they each run on different cooldowns). Also if you harvest resources near you while you are out killing mobs it adds up quickly and you end up having more potions than you thought you would (each serving gives you 3 potions).

It may not seem worth it to others but it definetly pays off to harvest for it.

Note: The potions you buy from the vendor are different from the ones you craft. One has a small burst with a HoT (healing over time) while the other has a much greater burst but no HoT.

agreed, the first pots are only to get your alchemy up to the next level (though a magic user may want to make some extra mana pots, especially the green ones. But at higher levels, you get pots that heal for substantial amounts. Alchemy pots are critical heals, shop pots are keep me healthy heals.
