Blacksmithing Guide levels 1-20

A Blacksmithing Guide…
So first guide I have written for RoM, so here goes. I don’t know about any of the % changes based on level and class and such. I am a level 25/25 R/M and I did this 1-20 Guide on straight at the Blacksmithing trainer so if you find something that works better, USE IT! (I also only used the regular patterns that I could buy from the trainer as the other patterns just needed more mats). The only thing I did not keep track of was how much the patterns from the trainer cost, so if someone see’s that and wouldn’t mind writing it down I will include them in this guide.
For level 1-8 you will need the following materials:
Zinc Sand = 171 (342 Zinc Ore)
Ash Timber = 66 (132 Ash Wood)
Gold = 579 Gold.

Level 1-2 (55g total)
Studded Wooden Club, need to make 11 of them @ 5g each.
2x Zinc Sand (22 total)
1x Ash Timber (11 total)

Level 3-4 (132g total)
Short Sword, need to make 11 of them @ 12g each.
3x Zinc Sand (33 total)
1x Ash Timber (11 total)

Level 5-6 (312g total)
Light Blade, need to make 12 of them @ 26g each.
3x Zinc Sand (36 total)
1x Ash Timber (12 total)

Level 7-8 (the money maker, 80g total)
Round Wooden Shield, need to make 16 of them at 5g each.
5x Zinc Sand (80 total)
2x Ash Timber (32 total)

For levels 9-15 you will need the following:
Frost Rune’s = 61 total (Can be bought via the Item shop or found of monster drops)
Tin Sand = 281 (562 Tin Ore)
Willow timber = 117 (234 Willow Wood)
gold = 5047 gold

Level 9-10 (1932g total)
Mercenary’s Glaive, need to make 21 of them at 92g each.
3x Tin Sand (63 total)
1x Willow Timber (21 total)

Level 11-12 (2730g total)
Large Hardwood Hammer, need to make 26 of them @ 105g each.
1x Frost Rune (26 total)
3x Tins Sand (78 total)
1x Willow Timber (26 total)

Level 13 (A moneymaker again, 165g total)
Hardwood Shield, need to make 15 of them @ 11g each.
1x Frost Rune (15 total)
4x Tin Sand (60 total)
2x Willow Timber (30 Total)

Level 14 (A moneymaker again, 220g total)
Hardwood Shield, need to make 20 of them @ 11g each.
1x Frost Rune (20 total)
4x Tin Sand (80 total)
2x Willow Timber (40 Total)

At level 14, you could start using Iron patterns but I saw the money making potential of making 20 more shields, so I would do that, but it is your call.
Now is when you can start making patterns with Iron. It will take a lot of iron, so start saving as soon as you can start gathering it. To level from 15 to 20 you will need the following:
Frost Runes = 100 (Can be bought via the Item shop)
Iron Sand = 346 (692 Iron ore)
Maple Timber = 123 (246 Maple wood)
Gold = 16404g total

Level 15 (2363g total)
Scalelight Blade, Need to make 17 of them @ 139g each.
1x Frost Rune (17 total)
3x Iron Sand (51 total)
1x Maple Timber (17 total)

Level 16 (6012g total)
Double-edged Sword, need to make 18 of them @334g each.
1x Frost Rune (18 total)
3x Iron Sand (54 total)
1x Maple Timber (18 total)

Level 17 (432g total)
Hard Leather Shield, (Another moneymaker) need to make 18 of them @ 24g each.
1x Frost Rune (18 total)
3x Iron Sand (54 total)
1x Maple Timber (18 total)

Level 18 (576g total)
Hard Leather Shield, need to make 24 of them @ 24g each.
1x Frost Rune (24 total)
3x Iron Sand (72 total)
1x Maple Timber (24 total)

Level 19 (1 Hammer @ 443g and 22 Axe’s @ 299g each = 7021g)
Willow Hammer or Sharp Axe, need to make 23 of either (make 1 of each for the level 20 quest turn in Varnas).
1x Frost Rune (23 total)
5x Iron Sand (115 total)
2x Maple Timber (46 total)

And there you have it. You’re level 20 in Blacksmithing. As I said, at level 19 make 1 of each of the two patterns so you can have 1 to turn in for the Blacksmithing quest turn-in that allows you to create patterns higher than level 20. I am currently writing my notes down for higher level Blacksmithing but I will post here when it if finished. I welcome any comments so please post them or send me a tell.

You rock! Crafting is fun but also very boring. It's nice that now, I can just watch videos and click click click until I get the right amount of mats, then just craft. It's easily to get distracted or give up not knowing if you gathered enough materials, or you waste too much time gathering too much just so you don't have to go back out in the field and gather the missing amounts. Looking forward to your 20-40 guide, although the higher up you go, the more time it takes to level, so definitely won't be looking for it anytime soon. Still, thanks so much for this posting!
