Is it a rule of thumb that as soon as you get a new recipe you level off of that? Or at some point does the amount of "XP" you get per number of materials needed to craft shrink and you are better off leveling lower level recipes? Has anyone done that math?

Did some testing.

At some levels, its actually more efficient to level an older recipe, even though you've unlocked a new one. I tested by making a recipe that requires 3 dusk orchid bundles, and another that required 5 (and was higher level). Yes, the higher level recipe gave more experience, but in terms of time efficiency, the recipe that calls for 3 bundles wins out. So, be mindful of material requirements when you're focused on leveling Alchemy as fast as you can.

Shaeltal,

Excellent job, and great job in-game as well.

Since I didn't see it mentioned, blend runes also drop from the gargoyles throughout TWW (lv. 37-39).

Very nice guide.

Recipes + Rosemary

It appears to me that the recipes have changed since this list was made. I've been looking for what recipes Rosemary is used, and cannot find any existing in game yet. Apparently the healing potions no longer exist, the medicine potions replaced them? There are some herbs and resources that have changed completely from this list. Hopefully a more up-to-date list can be made at some point, although I sure appreciate the work that went into making this list.

Does anyone know if the level 29 Invisibility potion (dropped by Borrofar) is what it claims to be? Absolute Invisibility? Does that mean you can stand on top of a mob of your level for 15 seconds, and/or attack and stay invisible?

*gasp* Randomly popping in, its been quite a long while and, seeing as I've moved to a different state and bla bla bla...

Anywho, I'll see if I can't get this thread updated a bit.

@maouse - If they haven't changed the Invisibility Potions since I last logged on, then they are what they say they are. You can stand on a mob for 15 seconds, run around, do anything *except* attack, or anything of that sort. Basically, you can't be in Combat.

AN out of the woodwork question about alchemy. I know that you can make the lesser res necklas item with alchemy. Can you make the higher one and if so what level alchemy does it require?

I haven't found a recipe for that yet, and I don't expect to. The golden amulets, or whatever they're called, are a cash-shop item after all - I don't think they're gonna make them available through alchemy.

Thanks for the response, actually I saw both amulets in the CS, but yea it makes sense that it would be CS only for the golden amulet. Oh well that's life.

I'm lvl 20 Alchemy and need to advance (lvl 21-lvl 40). Where do I get the Quest to advance to this new level?

great guide for a almost useless profession...
all we can make to lv41 is completely devalued and useless for all players..
We cant decide what craft to lvlup this profession because there is only one pot to do (and last but not least, have to make 300/400 of each one).

Obviously ROM staff didn't think too much about profession in general..

there are a handful of recipes that sell really well. Stimulants and strong stimulants, hero potions, sometimes the pacification and aggro reducing ones. But yes, you end up with a bank full of potions its hard to sell while you are trying to level.

At the moment a stack (30) of hero potions goes for about 600-900k on our server (grimdal) - but unless you have contacts you may also be paying $2-10 million per tomb stat..

(yay for contacts!)
