Help finding Blend Runes

Anybody know what mobs commonly drop blend runes? I need to find a good place to farm some runes to get my alchemy level up. I am currently lvl 16/16 and I need to continue my Alchemy crafting but I am getting a deadhead without any Blend runes to craft with...

Hello,

Thanks for posting your question, I think that blend runes are randomly dropped from monsters, I don't recall hearing that blend runes drop more off a certain monster.

I have noticed that certain mobs drop certains runes more frequently than others (some even drop 2 of a kind). I just want to know if anybody has any good sources where to find mobs that drop Blend runes.

Got Blend?

From experience every since i started playing the best place to find blend rune at your lvl is in front of FA graveyard. Ive rerolled a bunch of toons just to farm blend from the bats. Best results i notice is when ur between lvl 14-18. Sometimes the bats would drop 2-3 at a time.

Hope this helps:)

wrong.

production runes are on specific loot tables. This is why i only get link and activate runes while running Clops.

Blend runes drop from:
Bats and Spiders outside Logar
Bats infront of FA
Zhuridon in Tagena
Gargoyles and Spiders in Ystra
Ghosts in DDC and Ravenfel

(haven't payed attention in other zones)

there are others that i'm missing for sure.

*in fact there is already a post in the Alchemy forums about the best places to farm them and at what level (level difference between you and the mob determines drop rate)

The skeletons at the beginning of Revivor's Corridor (within Ystra Labyrinth) also drop Blend, though that would be for later since they're for lvl30+ toons.

If it helps i found that the ghosts in the demon scar of the Savage lands also drop blend. I dont know about Aotilla yet.

Hum so is it just undead mobs in general that drop them? well undead and bats. maybe they are vampire bats being stuck in the same catagory as vampires and hence being undead?

I would say "undead" would be quite accurate as I was picking them up off the mummified men/women etc around Karzak camp areas too.

Treasure Trove

I know this does not apply to a level 16 alchemist, but for the ones among us that farm such things with a higher level character, blend runes also drop in the Treasure Trove instance.

Blend Runes

Hmm, I did reply to this thread earlier, but it seems my post has gone walkies somewhere in the electronic ether. However, I repeat my previous information for you:

Ok, Blend Runes only drop from certain mobs, they are not on the global loot table. After getting 5 toons on 5 servers levelled up in Alchemy, I got to know where to go. You will find that there are one or two places in every zone that have mobs that specifically drop Blend Runes.

Second, Blend Runes will drop like rain from those certain mobs if you are 2 or 3 levels below them. Therefore, if the Blend Rune dropping mobs are level 18, then you will get significant drops by killing them when you are level 15 or 16. As you level up further, the drops from those level 18 mobs decrease, until at about when you get to level 23 or 24, the drop rate is sparse. This probably is to stop much higher level toons from farming low level mobs.

As you are level 16, I'll tell you the first few mobs you should be farming to get Blend Runes.

The Bats and Spiders in the Human Starter zone, outside the cave to the West of the town. Those bats and spiders are about level 4 or 5, so you will out level them very very quickly. Next, in the Graveyard outside Forsaken Abbey, kill Bats for plenty of Blend Runes. They are level 15 and 16 so start killing them at your level 13 and you will get plenty of Blend Runes. My level 13 Priest / Scout managed to get 117 Blend Runes from these bats when I was level 13 in under one hour and ten minutes. However, you will level up again quite fast on these. I farmed these bats when I was level 13 to 16 and got 184 Blend Runes in total.

Next, at level 16 you should go to the Zhuridon Camp to the North East of the same zone as Forsaken Abbey. There you will find level 18 and level 19 Zhuridon Deciples. Again, just killing these guys got me from level 16 to level 19 in two hours, and I came away with another 208 Blend Runes. Some of the Deciples drop 2 or even 3 at a time. The drop rate reduces quite fast on these guys, when I was level 20, I got maybe one Blend Rune per 5 or 6 kills from the level 18 Deciples.

Ok, that should help you for starters. This post is getting big so I'll leave it to others to give you the other mobs and spawn zones for Blend Runes.

As a side note, I went from level 13 to level 20 in just under 4.5 hours, and got me just under 400 Blend Runes just from killing the mobs stated above. Didn't do a single, solitary quest in that zone, having arrived in Varanas at level 12 from the starter zone. It was nice having a level 20 Priest / 17 Scout when I finally started questing in that zone, and I was doing quite well in Alchemy too.

Good Hunting to you.

ive also found that the revenants for the kill quest daily in SL, also most of the mobs there drop blend runes pretty regularly, i pick up about a stack over the course of a days worth of dailies, but then i also kill everything around there too.
Let you plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt. What a distressing contrast there is between the radiant intelligence of the child and the feeble mentality of the average adult. Wit is educated insolence.

if you want more time to farm bats on FA, before you got with a 15-16 lvl char there, die a lot with him to get a great deal of debt.
That way you will get way less xp from the killings and you can farm more.

For the most part keep an eye out for undead, ghost, and bats. There are others, such as most spiders also drop blends.

Alternatively, if you don't want to farm them, you could buy them on AH or buy a bag of 100 in diamond shop

Well as said previously remember it is all level based.

I was doing the demon scar ghost camp. Anything in that area drops blends even the non ghosts. I believe they are 52-53 mobs.

Haven't found the next spot as of yet. Going to check on the volcano zone this week sometime.
