Herbalism Pricing Discussion - Osha

So I thought this could be a relatively fun and useful discussion on Alchemy pricing. It has always striked me as odd that the cost of materials on the AH are higher than the cost of Crafted Alchemy potions on the AH. I think it could prove to be healthier for any in game economy to be more consistent. The economy governs itself, most of us familiar with the basic principles of economics so I wont turn this into a long discussion, but the way it is now is not very efficient.


There are a lot of variables that affects the RoM economy so I'm not asking for a rule list for pricing. I just want to make of list of common prices, and what you think they should sell for, based on the servers prices, and of course difficulty to create etc.

Lower and Raise to what you see fit here is the list for your convenience.

I am a gatherer/planter and appreciate what you have here. This thread could be a resource for those looking to buy and sell at set prices and avoid AH fees. I think I have gotten a bit more on the AH but would be willing to sell at these prices if I could get consistent buyers.

Looks like prices across the board have risen recently...Sinners palm is up to 1100 gold each for some reason, maybe I'm buying it ALL to much.

It all depends who is crafting at the time and how many people are actually gathering. A few months back a stack of 100 sinner's palm was selling for 220-250K.

no no I mean I'm literally buying all of it....I've purchased every sinners palm of the AH in osha for the last 3 days, and lots of other mats 100's. I know why it's going up I'm just making joke.

I make most of my money by selling mats, (primarily Sinners Palm to you for all of those Hero Potions;)), so I like when the prices are higher. During the week, I can get 1200 per, but come the weekend, it goes down to around 900 per. More supply than demand. On my low level toons, I will collect all of the level 1 mats as I go, and sell any extra in the AH, but pricing is just the opposite. During the week, Mountain Demon Grass will sell for 300 per, but on the weekend, it will climb greatly. I usually sell it for 500, but it will easily go for 800 or more per, as everyone needs it for their 15/15 skills. I don't see any way to "set a price". In the real world I would negotiate a contract with a manufacturer for a set price, in return for my promises to buy a set amount or to only buy that product from them. In ROM, there would be no way to enforce a contract.

You could try to create an organization that negotiates price between crafters and gatherers. it probably wouldn't work and because RoM is technically part of the internet because of this its corruption would be accelerated even if it did work.
