Can only make plates and chains?

Can you only make plates and chains with armor crafting? Or just these are the only things i can currently make at level 1 AC?
Also, once I get a recipe and enough materials for the recipe, how do I use the recipe?

You make leather too. Though your limited to only making the chest and leg peices. And the helmets after level 30.

You want Tailoring for cloth armour, if that is what you are actually looking for (I seem to remember you are a Mage).

To craft them item stand near the crafting station. In Logar it is near the gate heading to Pioneer. The press K and select the armor craft skill. This should pop up a UI.

First Right click on the Recipe in your back pack to learn it.

All the Crafting tables are around the same area in Logar.

You can learn a recipe anywhere. However the white recipes you buy from the trainers are learned immediately and are never actually placed into your backpack.
