A new cook question

Recently, I’ve decided to start levelling my cooking skill ‘cause my guild lacked someone with a high level cooking skills to craft us desirable food (and because I like the crafting concept even if my previous experiences where inconclusive (I’ve levelled quite a lot my carpentry and never crafted anything I would use… but that’s an other story).

I’ve started levelling this skill this week-end (and I’m now at about level 25), but I’ve also levelled blacksmithing on my first toon to over 45. While levelling that toon’s skill, I’ve realized that some recipes are worth to skip (because they use more mats (then the previous craftable item) while not giving such big boost compared to the previous item).

So here is my question: Is it the same thing for cooking and if so, are there recipes that are worth skipping (or, on the other hand, to keep crafting regardless of the level I’m currently at)? Also, do those that have high crafting skills consider it’s worthwhile to buy a crafting station for the House?

Many thaks to everyone for their insights’!
