Gets Too Hard Above Level 40

I have been patiently gathering and leveling up since the beginning.
However, it has been getting steadily more difficult to the point of
seeming ridiculously difficult.

At level 39, I receive a 0.83% bump each successful time on a level 38
farm. So I need to gather 121 product to get to level 40. Beyond that
the percentage bump goes down and the number of product goes up.

I need to get to level 44 to farm the next area.
This means close to 1,000 product gathered to reach my goal!
And beyond that, it gets progressively MORE difficult.

How do you do it? Why should I do it when there are other ways?

  1. Planting
  2. Pet Farming
  3. Farming at Guild's Fields
  4. Auction House


Don't tell me about Potions, because they are no real help.
Although they do allow you to gather product beyond your current
level, the percentage increment is the same as not using the potion.

Any other solutions? I'd appreciate it.

How do you do it?

2 ways. First is spend you days gathering for hours. Second, just randomly gather while you are questing, doing dailies or just about any other activity.

There really is not a quick way to level gathering, beside using a lvl 60 +% increase gathering buff. Comes from the lvl 60 armorcrafting punisher set Skill Link

Why should I do it when there are other ways?

There are 2 reason that stand out the most, Refining and its free. Planting and pet crafting cost Gold and diamonds even in some cases, like myself.

Although planting is probably the better option in terms of quantity it doesn't always give the mats in the form you want, so u need a gatherer to refine them appropriately, Pet crafting has the same problem.

Maybe they added the raw mat to the recipe to promote pet crafting and gathering.

I myself, just has mining at lvl 66 and 11 lvl 80 planters and guildies who are master gatherers in the other skills if i need anything refined. As a crafter it is always a good investment to network with other crafters. We are mostly a friendly bunch, always have a few bad apples in the basket sadly :P

I think all 3 gathering skills should be able to be maxxed. Some times finding a person to process mats for me is a pain , and not being able to do it myself really sux's cuz i can't make my lvl 70 foods. I can get mats that need to be made blue ,but have no way of doing it myself : (
As for gathering i done it as i went + pet + planting
i can process herbs and wood to lvl 60 but ore is way back at 40

i leveled my skills by processing what i gathered with my pet crafting, takes a hell of long time and gold, but you sell the mats on AH and the mysterious items and it becomes free and you will make a profit from it. Just takes a long time ;-(

It takes time, but it's not an inordinate amount of time. It took me about 2 weeks to get my mining up to 70, but I did play a lot. But that gives you an idea as to how quickly it can be leveled. It's just one of those things that you have to grind it out and chat with guildies in vent or watch a movie while doing :P
