Yeah, as a crafter I am a little disappointed in how much work you put into it compared to what you get out of it, but I still think with some modifications it could be useful. Take a look at Boss Furniture, difficult to craft, components are often rare and hard to come by, and at the end it is mere eye candy....but what if they changed that? Imagine if crafting a piece of boss furniture and hanging it in your house gave you some really nice bonuses or buffs..........and maybe some other benefits to having it in your guild castle? By adding more options for boss furniture from the newer instances and creating all the required sub-component chests crafting could get a new interesting twist as well as value. Imagine if by having a piece of boss furniture in your guild castle you could summon it during seige and defend a tower, or if you could summon it in your castle once a day and kill it as a guild for mems and loot?

Instance runs would still be a source of stats. Even with mems you can't get all the best stats. Also, (at least for armor crafting) you can only make some of the equipment pieces (helmet, upper body, and legs for armor crafting). So the other pieces could still come from instance runs as well.

Crafting in overall is obsolete as better items do drop, and it takes forever to level. (someone mentioned that might have to do with mentality of people where major market for RoM is - ASIA)
As I already mentioned before, crafting should be adjusted, so that gear/weapon are better then instance one, but require you to work to obtain them (mats, recipe,...etc)
Also crafting should allow you to upgrade existing weapons but adding dura and/or drills.
As of moment, it really sucks...
