Silly recipes

There are just too many recipes in this game and too many that cost way too much. A recipe for timber? When I fell a tree, I have timber; except in this game I have wood! Then I need a recipe to create timber! My recipe for lowly willow "timber" cost 640 gold. Then I have to buy or possibly find a recipe for lumber. A recipe to push a log through a sawmill? And of course lumber is not good enough. I need a recipe for planks too! Of course planks are lumber, but who cares? Another foolish recipe must make the game more enjoyable?
Please clean and repair the crafting system. What I have seen in my own crafting and what I have read has induced me to drop crafting of any kind. Crafting has to be balanced. As of now, a couple of crafts will net you good money while the rest will lose you good money. What crafts do you think are going to be pursued?
Adding crafting to your game does help lure new players, but it does not take long to realize how bad the crafting is. Then maybe those same players leave.

THen there's how long leveling takes... Honestly leveling should be replaced with some other balancing mechanism for crafting. And yeah, those recipes are silly as HECK. Seriously, Ore refining to SAND refining to a NUGGET refining to an INGOT?
It should branch out rather than stay linear: For instance Iron Ore should refine to Iron Ingots, which can be made into Pure Iron Ore for other Armorcrafting, Blacksmithing, and Carpentry, OR Iron Sand, for Alchemy and possibly Cooking (Although that's a bit silly), same thing with wood, becoming Lumber, then branching out into Shafts, "Lengths," and Blocks for various Armor/Weaponcrafting/Carpentry recipes, or as fuel for cooking (Another suggestion :P). Also... Flame Dust Sand? Sounds a bit strange to me :P

Then there's the whole issue of the gear being worse or the same as gear obtained otherwise...

Crafting needs a COMPLETE and TOTAL overhaul. For one, let us combine certain mineral Ingots to make special metals, two, CHANGE CXP, three, REMOVE THE RIDICULOUSNESS, four, add at least one new Craft that almost solely revolves around runes and magical stuff like Essences of elements or whatever, five, give an ACTUAL advantage to crafting clothes/weapons/whatever else instead of just wearing rewards and drops. As of now, only Alchemy/Herbalism seems feasible, and even that involves ridiculous CXP grinding...
Ithiriz(Osha M/R/W 50/30/25), Saerimuus (Osha Wd/D 12/1), and some other Elf, Osha D/S 13/10, not to mention a few random characters on random servers that I made but that you probably won't ever see.
