[Addon] CharPlan

Charplan:
http://www.curse.com/addons/rom/charplan



Build and Pimp your dream gear.

-> the Main-Dialog: shows estimated character values
-> the Pimp-Dialog: checkout all available upgrade options for your equipment
-> the Search-Dialog: search through the whole game-database

Usage:
-> AddonManager
-> MiniMap-Button
-> or enter "/CP"

I cannot get this to work. It does nothing but bring up the interface. Every box I even hover over gives me an error. They all start with CP and are all some type of fram error. Anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong. If you need a more specific example, let me know and I will post one.

Does the glowing red button next to your minimap give you any clues? The error button, sometimes helpful, sometimes not.

Are you heavily skinned? charplan seems to not like items that don't have the skins they are supposed to have.

Love this addon.. I use it constantly. And it's so much easier than the old RoM Armory was.

This is one of the errors I get when I hover with the mouse

call CPEquipmentFrameEquipErring0Slot's OnLeaving, line: [string'?'] attempts to index global 'CP' (a function value)

I am taking this error message from the "Red Button."

i get it from my fantesticle redneck 'broadband's constant lag and packet loss. when i add all my gear to cp i have to, no bs, alt-tab as fast as possible and not touch ANYTHING. otherwise it just..is a whole ball of fail

oh wait..tooltip gives an error when you only hover over it? quick, alt-f4 and play live action role playing games on youtube!

if you use pbinfo try updating it..if u have my crit addon for target tooltip then idk

sounds like something already reserved CP ? go through every lua file and search for C then P

Yeah, what Paz said. Try taking your add-ons folder over to your desktop, creat a new add-ons folder to replace it and only have charplan installed. See if charplan works then, this will tell you if one of your other add-ons is conflicting. If so, you can try adding in the others one at a time till it fails then decide which add-on you want to keep.

But before you do that try removing your earrings to your backpack, assuming that Erring means earring.

By the way, I am in no way a scripter nor any other kind of add-on expert.

Well, if you suspect that CP is having problems with current equipment, then try it on a new alt. I don't think it is the case, though. CP can use your current equipment as basis for your plans, but it does not do it unless you ask, so should not have issues with your current gear. Maybe.

its just a basic lua error where its trying to do something on the wrong type of variable..so index only be permitted on strings and tables. why its throwing the error could be a lot of things i guess depending on what lua files you have in the addons folder, is something not in the correct txt format, did winblows take away read/write/glance at/wink privledges..idk. havent had coffee yet.

delete the folder entirely and d/l char plan again and extract to addons. if u have ui saving problems then stop trying to dps while not being asian :mad:

If you have add-on CrashPazzuzu, then it will not work with CharPlan for obvious reason it uses the same string /cp to call action.

I second Mr. Pink Hat, add-on does not lead gear unless told to, so it has to do with other addons. (or possibly you have CP twice in addon folder.

I suggest you do what I did not long ago, remove everything and recheck what do you really need, load addons you really need.

One more thing, make sure you don't have personal function called cp either. *DIYCE or some other own functions

RoMage, you are right on. You cannot believe the panic when I saw it was my DIYCE causing the problem. I took all of my addons out, and put them in one at a time, and there is my DIYCE causing all the issues. I have a champion / priest, and named the function CP, and seeing that only 2 other people in all of RoM play that combo, it is no wonder that no one else has had the same issue. I have very little experience with coding, and I think I learned is that addons are not totally independent of each other, and none of them can have the same function. I hope my experience can help someone else, and thanks for everyones help.
