Windows Vista Users:

  • If you are using Windows Vista, there might be a problem with AddOns:
  • Vista may do a few things that are out of the ordinary when you installed a game in the C:\Program Files\ or C:\Program Files (x86) folders - it may either not apply your settings or it won't delete them properly.
  • Vista may deny you write access from the Runes of Magic folder if it is installed in the Program Files folder. You can remedy this by either right-clicking the game and selecting "Run as administrator" or to move it outside of the Program Files folder.
  • If you installed the game in the Program Files folder, Vista may redirect the game to look in another set of folders: c:\Users\<name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Runes of Magic\ It will save all of your custom configurations there instead of the C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft folder. You can delete your settings by going to the folder above or moving the game outside of the Runes of Magic folder.
  • If you still have problems with AddOns after reading this you can take a look at this post Howto: Vista, WoW and Addons.

Credit to:

  • Chefren for supplying the square minimap mask, and making me realize how easy it would be to make this.
  • taggert for creating the texture for the square minimap "RIM".

I'm leaving AddOn development, maybe even the game, I don't wanna continue trying to contribute to this really nice game any longer under the current conditions ... (AddOn Authors missing support)

Should anyone be interested in why this is, here is one of the main reasons: Are we in danger?

Should anyone be interested in continuing this project feel free to do so...

Look on Curseforge. None of Zilver's addons are truly deleted unless he asks personally. when an addon is marked "Abandoned" it stays on Curseforge so people can pick it up so the code is there to start off from.

Yes, it exists. Is it actually obtainable? No. When will we get to use it? No clue.

But feel free to gaze at it and dream.

I'm going to necro this. I just switched from a full screen monitor to a wide screen one and now my minimap is in the center top of my screen instead of on the right and I can't move it. Has anyone developed another addon that would let you move the minimap or a way to do it natively?

XBar III does that, but also some other stuff. Pretty much everything on screen is move-able & toggle-able with XBar III.
