GuildDonate

- Current -
version 2.2 has been optimized to provide easier updates without having to reset your Donate list after version 2.2

- When Updating -
REPLACE ALL FILES WHEN DOING THIS UPDATE... (donate options have been moved to DonateList.lua)
This update will optimize and add a new file called "DonateList", after you do this update you will need to reset your donate and ignore list, future updates will not require you to reset your list anymore

- Description -
I created this addon in order to make donating the items that are strictly "guild resources" easier and alot faster, now it will also donate any crafting resource you choose to donate, and if you set a resource to ignore then it will do just that...

you do not need to open your "Guild" window at all and you do not need to even open your bags for GuildDonate to do its job.

enter " /gd " into your chat window to view the current ways to use GD-2.2 then you can use chat commands to donate or create a simple macro and place it somewhere on your action bar, using that command will donate all of the resources you have set to donate...

- Upcoming -
nothing yet until i have a new idea for it

key points...
1. use /gd or /guilddonate to list the donate commands.

2. you can update your donate/ignore list named "DonateList" while you play, the changes you make will take effect immediately when you save your changes, RELOGGING IS A THING OF THE PAST!!! and not necessary for GuildDonate 2.0+, also crashing and UI resets will not change your DonateList, it will only change if you change it.

3. as well as choosing individual resources to ignore, you can avoid donating an entire type of crafting resource

4. donating choices are set to...
-- All Guild Resources
-- All Crafting Resources (herb,ore,wood)
-- All Herb Crafting Resources
-- All Ore Crafting Resources
-- All Wood Crafting Resources
-- All Resources (guild and crafting)

5. donating has never been easier and faster (setting up the donate/ignore list for the first time may take you a few minutes)

i use the name of my addons as commands mostly, so /gd or /guilddonate will work to start donating

At least one guildie has already said she wants the "ignore mat" feature. Glad I could help in some way to get this moving along, you beat me to the market with this one lol, had this planned for some time, just never actually found the time to get it done. Good job

just finished reworking the entire code, and now im about to start adding every gathering material of every quality, after i get that finish ill see about implementing an "ignore mat" feature in a future release of 2.x

if my memory serves me right, i made this about 5-6 months ago when drill grounds were worth doing.

Seems it doesn't work on other languages. Is there a way to fix that?

not currently, i never implemented language files while i kept the addon to myself, ill pause the 2.0 upgrade briefly and work on adding other languages.

@ghost, i went ahead and started adding an ignore list, it will actually be a subfile for the addon instead of commands, the reason im doing it this way is because there will be a total of 200+ resources its easier for people to just set certain resources to be ignored before they log in rather than typing out each individual name that they dont want to donate... i will of course alphabetize the ignore list based first on type, then by name... should make it a very simple process to select what to ignore/not...

EDIT: GuildDonate 1.5 is now uploaded, it should find and donate your resources no matter what language you are using while playing RoM, however the chat messages will remain in english for now, besides the messages arent really important anyways... if there are any problems with it let me know because i wasnt able to fully test it since its a fast update

Question for karma:

Is GuildDonate compatible with Addon Manager? If it isn't, can you find a way to make it so? It' would be nice to have it easily available for individual customization.

Thanks!

i tend to avoid using physical frames so that FPS isnt affected by my addons, i also dont mess with "savedvariables" because 1 small screw-up and your entire UI resets, and using it with addon manager wouldnt do you any good because it wont have any frames to customize.

when i release version 2.0 it will have a file named "resources", in that file is going to be a giant list of every "donatable" resource in the game that we get access to, you will be able to update the list as you play.

so if you make a change to the list, you wont have to relog... the next time you use a donate option, the list will update to the current one first then search for resources to donate....

(not sure if any of that makes sense or not, however trust me, updating while you play is going to be easy for you to do and less risky in case of errors, also it acts as its own "savedvariables" file from within the addon itself... that means even if you crash or your UI resets because of another addon then your donate list will still be just how you left it)

If you make a change on the fly to the list, the player will still have to reload the game for the changes to take effect. No way to get around that without using savedvariables.

Version 2.0 beta is complete, in a couple days after a little more testing i will add it to my site for everyone to use...

key points...
1. use /gd or /guilddonate to list the donate commands.

2. you can update your donate/ignore list named "Resources" while you play, the changes you make will take effect immediately when you save your changes, RELOGGING IS A THING OF THE PAST!!! and not necessary for GuildDonate 2.0, also crashing and UI resets will not change your Resource list, it will only change if you change it.

3. as well as choosing individual resources to ignore, you can avoid donating an entire type of crafting resource (see #4...)

4. donating choices are set to...
-- All Guild Resources
-- All Crafting Resources (herb,ore,wood)
-- All Herb Crafting Resources
-- All Ore Crafting Resources
-- All Wood Crafting Resources
-- All Resources (guild and crafting)

GuildDonate 2.0 is now uploaded, follow the instructions inside the file named "Resources" to set up your donate/ignore list, remember you can also edit your list while you play and you wont need to relog after, just save the edited file and your changes are immediately updated...

almost forgot, it checks your itemshop bag, all 6 pages in your backpack, and the 5 regular transmutor spots + the 5 hidden transmutor spots...... if you have a resource in any of those places it will find it

New Version 2.1 has been released, please read first post in this thread as there is new info regarding how to update the addon without having any issues. if you have a question then please ask and i can help walk you through updating, also the update is non-essential (meaning no necessary) it is simply an optimization of chat messages displayed while donating

Before I try this add-on, is it global for any toon I log in ?. I don't want to log in a toon for tailor crafting and find all my processed mats disapear.

I have seperate toons for crafting, toons for planting and occasionaly use one of my higher level toons to go gathering as do others I know, also some slave alts that work in the guild over night mostly for hard work crystals. Can the donate config stay seperate for each toon, or is it one config covers what ever toon logs in.

it is global in a way, the donate/ignore list you set will apply to every toon you have, however it will not donate anything on a toon unless you are logged in on that specific character and use a donate option. to make sure you dont donate the mats on your crafters simply dont use the donate commands while you are playing on that character.

BTW, am using the latest version and it is working well. Also have a guildie using it now, and no complaints so far from her either.
