Aggro Range Addon Request

First off I should Say that what i have in Mind, as an Idea for a great Addon could or might be considerered as a exploit but i doubt I doubt i will be considered so lemme explain.

Im a mage and as a mage Im squishy so when it comes to knowing how far away you should be from a mob becomes a matter of life and death. So im wondering if it would be possible for someone to make an addon for Curse that when installed it shows the Aggro range of a Mob.
This could be done by, When you have a Mob selected the Circle that flashes under the mob would become the aggro indicator so if you steppd into this circle the mob the hostile mob would attack you since you stepped into the aggro range. Are you with me still?
So Pretty my what the addon would do is increase the circle that flashes beneath the mob to the size of the mobs aggro range. So that you could know were to step. For example I like to gather herbs and ore in high lvl zones and it constantly become a pain when I get attacked so What this Addon would do is tell me were to stand to avoid attracting unwanted mobs. Also this would be usefull for boss fights so that you could know were to stand and avoid starting the boss fight prematurly.
I dont know if this is starting to sound like an exploit/hack or a great addon.
please post what you think and i would appreciate it if someone could make this addon.

Just some thoughts on this.

Doing something like this for any/all mobs in the 3D environment could be rather problematic.

A little easier would be to have a circle around your character to show your own aggro radius. Still not that easy to do since it still involves the 3D environment, but I think it would be possible (haven't actually looked into it though).

There used to be an addon that showed colored circles on the minimap around your character to show spell ranges. I can't remember the name of it, but something like that may also be workable as a solution since you could see the area you would aggro in.

Not sure if it's the one you're referring to, but there was an add-on for healers for heal ranges - http://rom.curseforge.com/addons/adminimaphealrange/

That's the only one I know of that had such a thing, though there could be older ones I don't know about. I guess if you knew the aggro range of mobs, you could set the distance in this add-on manually and judge it from there. It's abandoned, but it still worked ~7 months ago, when I was still using it.

That's the one. All I could remember of it was that it had something to do with spell ranges.

Anyway, that may be a basis for someone who wanted to try their hand at this (if the OP can't work with it directly as is). I don't want to take anything else on since I got way too much on my hands already (to the point where I've promised to make a few quick things that I have still not gotten around to (sorry to all them folks).
