how does one find out about new events?

how does one find out about new events?

I have been checking the forum trying to find out when new events start but am having trouble finding out information. ie. POM event

I found out it is/was running but did not find out any information about what to do/where to go etc.

it would be nice if there was more information about these kind of events then just randomly finding out about them thru other players (I am in a guild with 90% newbies, so they don't know any more than me)

This is the 1st place you should go if you want to know what is happening. Most of us here on the forums have nothing better to do than post stuff. Besides that you should join your servers "world" "trade" chat. On Indigo we use a channel named Trade for all our BS and general trading/talking about events. It is the best way to communicate with people outside your guild.

The forums also have guides to playing classes, questlines, instances. I highly recommend you dig around.

even if you pop into irc every now and then, and ask if there are any events going on/announced, you could find out a lot. most of the people there are well informed and happy to share.

also, forums are a treasure trove of knowledge if you dig, particularly in the archived section. still a shame all the good stuff that was lost with the forum changes...

on topic: I stay informed via forums and irc.

IRC is a tab above you in the forum tab tool bar. It is right next to NEW POSTS. I am not sure what server you are on but I would try commands like /join world, trade ,Trade in your chat bar.
