I'll take another swing at it, though there are so many good movies (and even more really bad ones). In no particular order for me:

Blazing Saddles
Star Wars Episode IV
To Kill A Mockingbird
The Music Man
LotR--The Fellowship of the Ring (though the other two parts of the trilogy are must-sees)

Bonus Feature: The Sound of Music

Guilty Pleasure: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (I love the cars in it and it's just so much fun. Dick Van Dyke, Juliet Mills, and...Benny Hill! What's not to like?)

2. The Inside Man
3. Law Abiding Citizen
4. Training Day
5. The Book of Eli

lol lots of Denzel Washington, seems like most, if not all of his movies turn out amazing.

Okay, I'll play along.

Having too many favourites for a simple top 5, I'll just pick a few in different categories. In no particular order:

 • Schindler's List
Not exactly a happy movie, but an important one
• Rosencrantz & Gildenstern Are Dead
Comedy using Shakespeare's Hamlet as background. Priceless!
• Monty Python: The Quest for the Holy Grail
Classic
• The Fifth Element
Over the top action comedy FTW!
• Seven Samurai
A Akira Kurosawa classic and influential movie. The Magnificent Seven is basically a remake in a Western setting.
2013... The year from hell....

Huh the silent hill movie is actually on someone's top movie list, I'm a fan of the series and didn't think it was anywhere as good as the games, I mean it wasn't bad but not one of my top picks, Silent Hill 2 is also coming out soon, the movie based on the third Silent Hill game, featuring Sean Bean. Halloween I think it's coming out.

Hm top movies....

1. The Descent (with the UK ending, if it doesnt have the UK ending it's not worth watching)
2. Wishmaster
3. Citizen Kane
4. To Kill a Mockingbird (62', not sure if they've ever redone that movie, it'd be a travesty to redo it to turn a cheap buck)
5. Tremors alternatively Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price or I am Legend with Will Smith (with the original ending)

There's a bunch of creature flicks on there but hey why not? Tremors isn't a great movie, but it's a fun watch.
