The QQ'ers will never quit. In fact, it has been my experience that it is part of a gaming communities life.
This is the second game that I have hung around with for some time. First was a FPS game. One thing that both games have in common is the progression of the community.
Every community seems to progress from loyal old timers to a new breed of players that complain about every thing
The Old timers are more relaxed about the issues. Yeah, they may voice an opinion but, they didn't harp upon the issues. Or treat it like it was the end of the world
The new players have an entirely different outlook. They complain about every thing.
When I started playing RoM, the community was great. very little QQ'ing, every one helping every one else, etc.
We are making that transition now. The new players are coming in. The new players to the old timers are going to be whinners. We have lost a lot of old timers. There are still a few hanging around and there will be a few players from the "new breed" who won't complain about every thing.
And we still have the helpful members.
This happened with Deltaforce Black Hawk down, the FPS game I played for 8 years that I still run a squad in.
Played for 4-5 years before "Generation Q" started arriving. When this new group of players arrived, all of a sudden every little glitch was complained about. Issues that players for 4-5 years have just been living with, figured out work around and accepting as part of the game are now bannable offenses by server admins who are part of GenerationQ. It is to the point that a slightly suspicious kill will get you called a cheater. Doesn't matter if you have been playing for 10+ years an thoroughly knew the game
I was driven from my own server that I own due to the new crowd's QQ'ing
Thats not to say that those who are QQ'ing don't have a reason to...how ever QQ'ing isn't the way to go. Making an intelligent, informed post about an issue will get your thoughts more respect then coming in and acting like a baby.
As for the QQ'ing in the forums here - ignore them
