Is it wierd?

Does anyone else find it weird that the game (The one ALL roleplaying games stem from) can't be mentioned on the Forums? Apparently its advertizing a 3rd party site or a competitor. You know the TABLE TOP NON ELECTRONIC adventure/rolaplaying game that is played with dice, paper, books and figurines.

Monopoly?

jk.

but anyway, the rule is generally aimed at competitive mmos, but it would be a pain to write every single exception into the forums rules..sooo...

What is weird is you can't even mention Frogster in the forums...its rather hilarious :o. If someone really wanted to ruin RoM/Frogster/Runewaker Rep, they will and nothing can be done to stop them LOL, Friends in High Places

Exactly, the game i referenced, in a previous post, isn't an MMO, its not even an electronic game. Unless you suck at basic math and have to use a calculator :P

To the best of my knowledge, mentioning products owned by Wizards of the Coast(tm) isn't disallowed in our forums. Discussing them extensively, however, is prohibited by our forum rules. After all, we aren't marketing those products. The same goes for other games developed and/or published by our competitors. They can be mentioned, but they cannot be discussed extensively, nor can you urge or recommend our members go and play those games, nor tell them you're going to be playing in <insert MMO name here> and suggest that others join you there.

Um, yes, you can, so long as you're respectful to Frogster and/or Runewaker. Honest disagreement with Frogster's policies is allowed, but slamming or otherwise disrespectful discussion of our policies and game(s) is prohibited.

Once again, I feel the need to remind people that while these forums are located in the United States, the First Amendment to the US Constitution does not apply to privately-owned and operated member-only forums. Frogster retains the right to set the rules and Terms of Service for these forums as it sees fit.

If you're unfamiliar with the forum rules, click the link in my sig (that link has been fixed) or go here: http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/announcement.php?f=269

Like it has been said before, these new forum mods need to get some serious training. Aside from spelling errors, grammatical errors and over-zealous post locking, i still think they need to be trained in how to be professional and HELPFUL

Also, not locking threads for no reason is a bonus too.

If you have any problem with forum moderation, I again invite you to read our rules, wherein it clearly states to contact Moderators or Mentors via PM if you feel the need to discuss a decision ;)

Discussion of moderation in forums is against our rules, so I kindly ask you to stop.

On top of that, the game who's name shall not be mentioned is as well available as MMO, so mea culpa if I misunderstood your topic. Nonetheless I move this thread to off topic now :p

if I may risk a simple answer to your original question: No [it's not weird].

When was the last time Mitt Romney said something nice about Newt Gingrich?

[ed]BTW: did you realise this politician's first name is a mob in RoM?

LOL

I had post edited for posting link for a book, not game. Book has nothing really to do with competitors, gaming or anything of that nature...

Power to edit post... irresistible... :p

No hard feelings, but not everything mods do make sense, but they get paid, so I guess is good for them to have some job security by policing forum. ;)

Anyone else know what term 5 cent army means? :D

Thank you for your response on this, but as previously mentioned by Dionaea, the proper place to discuss forum moderation is via PM.

As this thread has now run its course, and is beginning to loop back on itself, I'm going to close it.
