This is for the new players out there.

I recently read a rtant from someone that apparently was not happy with RoM. Reading that I had to make this post for those new players that might get the wrong ideas about RoM.

RoM is a free to play game. But if you want to really get into it there is the Item Shop. You do not have to use the item shop if you don't want to but it does make life in RoM much easier. If you have no way to get diamonds on your own (the main currency for the item shop), then there are usually several dozen players willing to sell you diamonds for a fee. The usual fee at this time is between 25k gold and 35k gold, depending on the server and how greedy the seller is.
Most new players have no clue as to how the chat channels work and are afraid to ask for fear of beign ridiculed. When you log in you are automaticaly stuck in the general chat which only a few players in your immediate vicinity can see (the /s or say channel). To swap channels you just have to input the slash command for that channel. Zone chat is /z, Guild chat is /g (once you join a guild), party chat is /p, and world chat is /y (which requires you to have a megaphone from the item shop). Some Servers have other channels implemented and if you ask about them most will tell you about these player run/created channels.
Combat is not so bad once you get used to it. Most mobs can be targeted by pressing the tab button. By pressing it you will automaticaly target the nearest target in front of you. You cna also target a mob by sticking your cursor over the mob and left clicking it.
Basic gameplay is like most other MMORPG's out there with a few additions. We now have 3 classes we can level. Choosing your classes is up to you.
Gearwise you can get away with the quest rewards up to lvl 45-50 at which time you will want to upgrade to that which is available through the shell games or the mem dealers.
If anyone ahs anything else to add feel free to as I only touched the basics here.
