What's the worst movie you saw?

I found some movies are boring.
I hate it.
Felon is one of it.
Make me want sleep.
How about you?
What's the worst movies?

I would have to say it is all relative. How good a movie is, is a subjective value that has more to do how well it fulfils your expectations than any objective values.

Certainly such things as camera work, scenery, soundtracks, can to a large extent be valued on their own basis - such component parts in themselves do not a good film make.

Some examples would be Jurassic Park II, which when I first saw it I deemed to be the worst and most pointless film ever, but watching it again with my son recently I felt it was ok, not very good but more interesting than I had first allowed. I think the change in my opinion can be easily attributed to my high expectations and dino-philia originally, and then my lowest of the low expectations at the revisiting.

Pulp Fiction likewise I had nearly no expectations about - knowing nothing about Tarantino at that point and only having heard vague rumours of gratuitous violence and foul language; I was completely unprepared for the cleverness that was to follow, allowing me to enjoy the film far more than if I had been expecting it.

I would also point to some cheesy parody-comedy (such as Meet the Spartans) - that features poor jokes, has-been comedians/actors, female celebrities cashing in on showing far too much flesh; yet largely achieve what they set out to do, and are entertaining and enjoyable, without ever being a good film in any sense of the phrase.

Have gone too indepth into this? Nah, can't be. I'm such a simple and straight-forward fellow. Or was I meant to give a top five worst movies arbitrarily chosen off the top of my head?

Battlefield Earth by any means - worst movie ever with worst actors. (Travolta amongst them) The whole movie is a good example how to turn good story into bad movie. (I know, many dislike Hubbard because of whole 'scientist church' thing, I've read book much before I ever knew about it, and enjoyed the reading)

As for Avatar, I do get it that some can have aversion about something being popular, but choosing one of best grossing movie ever as worst movie... I know, we all have our own taste... :D

I love a trully B grade movie, way to many to name but some of the lowest budget ones are the best.

Titanic, for me, is probably the worst big budget movie I can think of just now but I'm sure I've sat through worse.

I can't think of anything recent because I tend to watch older & foreign language movies.

"Clear and Present Danger" was, and currently remains, the only film I've watched in a theater where I seriously considered demanding a refund. The only resemblances to the Tom Clancy book it was apparently very loosely based on were the names of the characters, the fact that it had something to do with the South American drug trade, and the actual title of the movie. Otherwise, it was completely different from the book.

Yea the movie itself isnt "bad" only the way it was marketed and it turned out to be more of a romance with fancy CG. If it was advertised as a romance with fancy CG it is perfect, but unfortunately its a "fantasy, action, adventure"

So my feelings are more disappointment for it not being what i was expecting, getting a western when i came to watch a horror :P

I can see your point... It also makes huge difference how do you watch it. For Avatar I went with my brother to IMAX. At first he did not want to go, then once he heard that movie is good, he asked me to go. IMAX 3D got new meaning to me with that movie. :)

I know many complained about new BattleStar Galactica for the same reason. SF series made into drama, action, love movie... not for everyone... I liked it though...

Ok let me start by saying this. I love a very wide range of movies and have very strange tastes.
Here is an example of a movie that I love and hate:

The Thing

Here is why: the newest version is really not true to the original. It goes off base too soon and went and left the originals backstory out the door. I enjoyed the original Black and white "The Thing" much more. It seemed to have just that certian flair that the newest one doesn't. The second remake of "The Thing" was much better than this new one. It stayed true to the original and even added to it a bit.

Now to one movie that I couldn't get past the first scene "South Park". Not the series (which I love) but the movie with that god offall fart song right off the bat. I just couldn't continue to watch it and to this day have not even tried.

Now to the one movie that I concider truly EPIC "Akira". Yes I am talking about the original anime. They are supposed to be making a live action version but not sure how they will pull it off.
There are my thoughts guys hope you don't think I am too wierd now.

I did not see that particular movie (read the book though), but in general, movies based on novels are bound to be huge disappointments, especially if you liked the book. Movie directors often take a lot of unnecessary freedom in their interpretation, shorten the story, or come up with improbable casting (come on, Brad Pitt as Achilles?).
For turning great books into plain bad movies, Da Vinci Code or The Perfume would come high on the list.

heres one

Shark Boy and Lava Girl

holy FK that movie was horrible, so horrible it made me pissed off! the acting was more fake than a lvl 1 with name "asffegeg" buying dias telling everyone to send items first. i cant believe right now that i watched it.

and btw @ Eunhee, i kinda appreciated the fact that BP played Achilles, IMO he played a good match with his character. but that My opinion though.

I watched Avatar a year after it came out, i was on a 5hr+ plane flight and they had it in the tv system. so i takes my headphones and watched it from a small tv mounted to a chair in front of me.. i kinda liked it. idk why, i think the Michelle Rodriguez (favorite actress) added colors to it for me,

Now, that is the way I would never sugest to watch a movie... (almost like friend of mine watching it on portable DVD player for first time)

To get best of movie, larger screen and good sound system is a must. (For me sound is another dimension in movie :))

Wing Commander among first game >> movie adaptations - huge disappointment. Even I loved the game and at the time it came out it revolutionized genre, adding movie-like cut scenes.

anyone watched horrible bosses? i thought it would be a lame movie, but after watching it i kinda changed my mind it was pretty good!

...the new version is actually the prequel to Carpenter's version of "The Thing"... and in fact the black & white version The Thing from Another World wasn't as close to the original story as Carpenter's version anyways, Carpenter's was a better adaptation.... so therefore I'm totally confused by what ur trying to say haha.

On the subject, the video game The Thing is the sequel to Carpenter's version of the movie...

srsly why can't they just go back rename everything from The Thing (new movie), The Thing 2 (Carpenter's movie), The Thing 3 (video game) lol so confusing when they're all named the thing.

Reminds me of Alice in Wonderland, the live action movie is the sequel to the animated Alice in Wonderland...how r ppl supposed to know this??? lol.

avatar is by far not in my top 5 or even a top 10 movies list -> but for some reason i like that its the highest grossed film in the world. i for some reason want it to hold that rank, psychology of my mind and i cant do nothing bout it.

there was an avatar cartoon?
