United States Armed Forces

"Don't ask, don't tell" (DADT) was the official United States policy on homosexuals serving in the military from December 21, 1993 to September 20, 2011.

US Politics should of just left this one alone. Is the military better off with or without this policy?

I dont think it matters, there are homosexuals in the military and not in the military. I've seen flamboiant homosexuals both, in and out of the military. It's become a social norm by now, especially with the times. Im thirty years old, and I can honestly say that people, in general, have gotten more and more metrosexual with just what I have seen.

Goor or bad?...idk/idc, I think its just becoming more and more of a norm in all honesty.

I have all kinds of friends, most things dont bother me except for a person's character, good/bad values/traits, etc. Not their seuxality.

By the sweet and salty beard of Posieden, doesn't the word inappropriate mean anything to you, Rikatah?

I must conform to normality. Ohh, the agony of defeat. Where is the thrill of exploring the dark side of life?

We all just want to be a nice happy family and act like the world around us which challenges our ethic and moral fibers shouldn't have the right to exist.

I see your point. Sorry.

I think the whole gay thing is a non issue. Someone being gay is not hurting anyone. IMO people are born gay, every kid in high school we thought was gay eventually came out. If a gay man wants to pick up a gun and serve his country, then he is an American, not "just a gay"

Frankly my fellow Republicans need to get over this issues. Gays were around long before the bible or Christianity existed, and they will find far more gay men are conservative, just like my uncle, god rest his soul.

I do believe this policy was made by the conservatives and the liberals are the ones who are allowing our soldiers to be more open minded toward one another.

I have very close friends and relatives in the armed forces and they always knew even if there was no don't ask - don't tell policy in place and discrimination toward another soldier was never an issue. I do believe now that the homosexuals can come out in the open then it won't even matter to the soldiers because they already knew any way.

I am talking about topics that are appropriate for a computer game forum, and those inappropriate. Or do you not see any such distinction?

I will be the first to admit that I am full of mistakes and freely, yet unknowingly, demonstrate them publicly before everyone. I sometimes don't fully understand everything I do and continue to live in such manners.

So, let me clarify my reasoning for being 'off topic'. To bring up the subjects that most people like to just sweep under the rug will allow me to see the true nature of the people I play this game with. Some people don't like to leave their comfort zones and stay within the 'game life'. I for one will open up myself for the whole world to see all my opinions on everything.

Since I live my life playing Runes of Magic it would be to my benefit to know the people which are really my game/real life.

I do think you do not have any tolerance for me stepping out of the box. I appreciate your willingness to show me your feelings toward my actions and will be more considerate for your feelings.

First this is the OFF TOPIC section so anything goes.
My problem with teh military nowadays is not so much gays (which I believe are mutants of nature and against god and nature), but with the kind of people that are going into the military now. Not one week goes by without some headline about some soldier doing something they shouldn't. I feel that most of them should have gone to jail or even a head shrink instead of protecting our country. Granted there are a few good soldiers out there, but they never make headlines. I would much rather see where a marine or an army grunt saved someone than went nutso and killed a bunch of noncombatants.

Ah, that feels better after reading this thread.

PS does that mean that homosexuals could get into the Xmen? That is *soooo* cool.

Same what I wrote here http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthr…ll=1#post517939

goes for this thread.

This is the game forum of Runes of Magic and off topic section or not, this is not the right place to discuss politics, religious or sexual orientation related topics. Such topics can never be discussed without the risk of hurting someones feelings or offending them.

So in the light of forum rule 1 and to prevent this to derail into violation of forum rules 2 a) and b), I gently close this topic down.

Please keep in mind that we have kids playing this game. If you really want to discuss such delicate topics, please use a forum dedicated to such topics.

Thank you for your understanding.
