The problem I see with RoM (I've been playing since closed beta, but no longer play) is that instead of fixing what is broken, they just keep tacking on more and more new content. It's like if you own a restaurant where your food tastes bad, but instead of actually trying to make the food taste better, you just add more and more dishes to the menu.
It would be great if they would balance all the class combos so they are all viable, fix the broken stuff, and then maybe think about adding dwarves. Another game I played, whose name I cannot say but it rhymes with Ballads Conline, had the same problem where an update during open beta made the game horribly p2w, causing a drastic community loss. But they didn't just say "Who cares?" and start tacking on new content. No, the GM's listened to the players, and went back and fixed the broken stuff while simultaneously adding new content. That game doesn't have a giant population now, but it's playable and stable.
