R.I.P. Rodney King

To the man who may have uttered the six greatest words in the face of unthinkable brutality,

may you find in death what you could not in life.

"unthinkable brutality", eh? Mind boggles.

Do you even know who King was?

I'd say having the majority of the bones in your body broken by police counts as "unthinkable" by just about 99% of the population of the USA, but ya know. Maybe you go through that on a daily basis.

Yes, I do know, and using this phrase to refer to him is insult to millions of people throughout who do suffer from real brutality. Let's not cheapen the concept, shall we?

Would Rodney King be "famous" if during the car chase that led up to him being beaten, he crashed into family in a car and killed them all. A lot remember that man lead the police on a car chase and the video is the ass end of the situation. Albeit what the police did was certainly and 100% wrong, we seem to forgive him for the laws he previously broke before he was beat by the officers.

I can tell what people do go through on a daily basis is the recklessness of people driving automobiles under the influence (which mr.king was) and killing innocent people. If the beating Mr.King endured after the chase prevented the death of an innocent family then perhaps justice was served and the camera man was in the right spot at the wrong time.

Did anyone forget about the citizens that "cared" so much about the rodney king trial that they decided to destroy their own communities, kill each other, it wasn't even a racial issue at that point, lawlessness is never the answer.

I don't know about you but one man being beat up by some cops for leading them on a chase while he was wasted is a small contribution to prevent that same man from KILLING another human being.

Conversation is over after my comment of course.

His injuries were,

"He was then examined by doctors who said they found nine skull fractures, a shattered eye socket and cheekbone, a broken leg, a concussion, injuries to both knees and nerve damage that left his face partially paralyzed."

That's a far cry from

Anyone know who Reginald Denny is?
He was beaten just as bad if not worse then Rodney King.

"Hey everyone, I am going to lead police in a high speed pursuit tearing '55-80 MPH down residential streets' and complain when I get my ass beat for resisting arrest multiple times"

If you can be considered an amazing person for getting the *expletive deleted* kicked out of you for resisting arrest and suing the police department, I may have to start going on more high speed chases.

People these days look up to some of the stupidest idols.

Hello all,

As this thread has become a point of contention, we are going to close it down.
