Average day in Taborea...

Used to be exiting, log in into game, do cool things, plan what you will do... ahh good old times...

But lately is getting to the point of me getting asleep while doing GG?!

Wonder if anyone else has problem(s) like this...

Average day:

Log in, move main character to house, care for plants, move it to Varenas, say HI to Mr. Cedic, run Survival and Curse of Terror mini games. If you have enough shells, pull another fail stat from shell vendor and run ancient treasure mini game. Once this is done (already around 30-40 minutes into game) go back to Varenas, as this mini game is strategically placed far from snoop. Takes 2 snoops to get there from closes snoop.

Once there, run daily quests, in AKOR it is a bit easier then in Xaviera with butterfly (that used to be raid). This should take 5 or less minutes, and if you see nice EOJ farm, you could help and get some nice EOJs as reward.

Now move back to Varenas once more again (or if you like to challenge your computer and clear mind, you can try to go to Dalanis >> Obisidan >> Ystra >> Aslan Valley and as everyone else, run GG. Takes about 1 hour for main character to complete all of this. Imagine doing the same thing on alts?! (and at some point with BROKEN crafting and low server population, you HAVE TO shift focus on those poor little fellas. Now, to level them with dailies is clearly not very good option. (Mr. Pink Hat can share story of his alt leveling his secondary class to 72.)

Not much excitement, and in hope to see something good, you might just make the same mistake as I did last night and click on Cash Shop. WTF was first thing on my mind - I forgot to feed some eggs to my pet. Fast move to closest AH and search for Fire pet eggs. Cheapest egg was 10K bid, 30K purchase. Everything else just tells either Frogster Sales team started playing game and placed L4 egg for 200K *would explain greed* or there are really some clueless players in game. Nah, my pet does not feel need to merge today... and 23 dias for damn pot is just out of question.

Then you check forum, Fan posted class-related rant - ohhh, that just made my day even better, but nothing to worry about, with 10-20 bucks a month you will not get near end game, and with this kind of excitement in game, nor I will spend that much money, as it clearly is not worth spending any with current CS.

This all brings me to point that I can't wait that other game switch to F2P model. Year ago I would not even consider it, but week after week of the same 'boring' - we will forward this further - excuses will make sure that I see some friends from there there...

There is still some time for change, and we see changes, but back to beginning of my post, is it too little and too late?

Wonder if I have major symptoms of Fanatitis - very dangerous disease.

Yeah, the game used to be fun. I used to log in, do Ah/housekeeper check, siege for 50 mins, rest for 20 mins, then chat and joke with guildies, while a run forms for either Krolin, tergothern bay Worldboss for glorious stats (leugusan or something, was our usual choice because of 0 competition, because we were one of the less than half a dozen guilds that were dumb enough to try him :p), or we'd do GCH if there was enough people.

Now its just log on, get buffs from housekeeper, siege for an funsies and try not to lose our honor crystal. Then sit in sadness with my guildleader and tank after siege for a couple mins while we figure out what to do with ourselves, and log.

As you can tell, I don't even bother with SW. Was not in single SW since I came back... with my hurdle with in game support. That just brings another not so nice memory of being let down by support, who acknowledged new bug but did not reimburse my lost item because it was not in list of known cases of lost items?!

Wouldn't be new bug if it was previously reported and known bug... but ohh... someone in HQ had some brain to send item which lifted my self-made ban.

I would skip SW, but there's just nothing else to do. I can't accept just doing only minigames (aka. minichores) everyday, unless I get to do something fun after to to justify wasting time on them.

Its sad. A year ago, I wouldn't want to spend time on anything except RoM when I'm on my computer. Now, even reading papers on Quantum Mechanics or Fan's essays are more enjoyable than playing RoM.

And here's the paper if anyone is interested, its actually pretty interesting to read. There's also papers on General Relativity, and the expanding universe on the site.

I am reading 'Ringworld' by Larry Niven - interesting how some people had good imagination and vision. (book was published 30-40 years ago)

Last 2 mights went to bed just after 10... thanks to some other experiments I am running. (can't talk about those here)

Why there is no 'rain' in RoM? It would give better tone to the whole game state imho.

Most of the day is dailies activities. That means taking my main and 4 alts through the cedric/GG/COT/dailies tasks. 5 COTs, 3 GGs, 50 dailies. One hour SW (and about 10 min SW prep). Then, if the guild feels like it, KUBN run, sometimes HOS run for new members. RT too, although rarely. If not, DOD is soloable, so that is always decent mem farm.

Then there is planting. A bit of a PITA because have to relog several times a day into right accoutns. Remaining time is crafting food, farming new X stats and other things as needed. Orb filling is time sink, so is hand-gathering. Occasionally forums, although much less now that they FUBARed the color scheme.

The most boring part? Flies. No raid anymore, and when there is one, it is raid in name only. Unfortunately, has to be flies, the alt is too low on secondary side to do better dailies and out of quests. I hate files. Very grindy.

Sure, it gets to be predictable and repetitive somewhat, but that is what happens when you spend that much time in one game. I have a friend that played other MMOs, he hit the same pattern in several of them. It is more of personality issue than the game issue.
-- Rustyx --- 92R / 92S / 92M on Reni (Guild KnightShift). Yes, running the new FOTM R/M, cause I am not elf enough to be WD/S.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

Are you applying that my personality placed Mr. Robbie Butcher outside of garden?

Or is it my personality that made us kill 40 worms, 60 goblins, 1-2 Evelyn, some elemental every day? I can run it fairly fast, but more and more often I find my self hitting wall and wondering why programmer clearly are asking for bots.

Take a look at pet production. Without add-on my pet would be still in L10 production, if even there... It still takes me HUGE amount of gold to level it... not at the end, but knowing that you can't even get to end game mats just kills even interest to work on it.

Crafting makes huge amount of production to level, and without enough people that require crafted materials it is almost impossible to level. I have 3 characters that I have to log into to sell only production from one of crafter for half level... really?!

IMHO, AH limit of 30 items should be lifted and/or changed to 60 or even 100 items per character.

When did you last time see not bag 3 permanent bag?

Game is more and more grind...

Where is fun in this game? Really?

Which is why I prefer Krolin for my Bygone stats, and Leugusan for Glorious (even if he still wipes the floor the first 1-2 times that we try to farm him each day). No more boring minigames, no more farming for tokens. Imo, as long as the marketing team coorporates and stop scaring off all my guildies, and RW stop nerfing every good thing, this game could actually be fun, and I'll just go M/R if I needed more instant casts, so no butterfly grinding.

About year ago it was still fun, I was doing even juice event. Today with bad memory of last event, where I end up with hundreds of fragments for pet and no pet, I just decided this is another waste of time and NOBODY did anything to fix problem with pet drops we had for last event. Hell, will not wait a year to see it fixed, and tell you the truth, 99.9% I am sure it will NOT BE fixed. (we all know that, don't we :))

There is stuff that require RW fixes, but there is a lot of things that Frog can fix without waiting, only if they had real DB admin who would focus on DB back end.

I just read that 'that' other game is offering server/realm transfers because some of the servers are full and there is waiting queue to get connected to server... wish we had the same problem... can't remember seeing moderate on any of the servers, even arthemis.

I log on and usually spend hours thinking about what I am going to do lol Most of my time is spent trying to clean my bags. :(

I am usually afk, talking in guild, pm's or vent. :D

Siege is fun, except for the lag, and people that call us hackers because of the lag lol

Granted I have missed essentially two patches because I am in Afghanistan, I have recently found some internet that allows me to play for a little while every day. I've spent it "catching up" to get back in the swing of things. Because of the time difference, I am only able to play in US AM time, where server activity is the lowest.

While I still have things to do, I look forward to continuing leveling crafting and second/third classes. If most people around me quit playing, I plan on creating a "beginner's guild" that will be exclusively for recruiting new players to the game and providing them assistance and information, essentially grooming them for their RoM experience.

All in all, despite all its flaws, I highly enjoy playing the game.

Yep, this game has all characteristics of unhealthy marriage/relationship... it will last as long as you are able to keep up with all of those flaws... every new flaw tents to be huge draw back... :)
