Could we have 3 channels back in Xaviera plz

Or at least some valid explanation as to why it's been dropped from 3 channels to 1. I wouldn't have thought the server population had dropped by 2/3rd's so quickly?

As it stands farming dog meat has come close to impossible and the only reason I can think off for the reduction in this zone is specifically based upon this activity. (Thou, the only reason I can come up with for targeting this activity would be to manipulate the economy within the game to create more Diamond Sales and we know you guys wouldn't do that right?)

So, maybe a moderator could stifle my curiousity and let me know if there was any other reason for this?

Maintenance tonight would be an excellent opportunity to bring them back btw ;-)

because they needed to make 3 channels available in the dwarf starting area for all those new players that are rolling in at unprecedented numbers </sarcasm>
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

Xaviera is ghost town on Reni. My alt needs to do flies for his secondary, yet to find a fly raid.

Coo/Xaviera has always been awful, lousy, rotten idea and I am glad to see so few people there. One channel is better than three; zero channels would work even better.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

i have seen many changes to the number of channels in various zones and it would seem to me that maybe they are trying to balance it out in relation to the number of people in the respective zone.

Yes, they do that. They balance resources to zones that are getting more use, and away from those which are getting less. I am sure all the dogbots are aghast about the whole notion.

Yeah, let the bots compete for bot supremacy while farming dogs, I figure having one channel hurts them more than anything else really. Most bots are in the first area, free from the copper gardener and that circle thing with the orbs that used to lag like crazy. If you need to farm meat, that area if usually ok, plus not many people are there to warrant 3 channels in xav anyway.

What dog bots??

Last couple of fly dailies I did on alt I HATE IT, as dogs would stun me all the time. No one was around to clean area.

It's not only Xaviera, there are some places that are affected as well at least on Artemis:

Dust Devil Canyon (cactus area)
Ashlan Valley (anyon competing for Tailing Fishbone?)

Most of you seem to forget that newbies often start making money by farming dog meat, and until 69, you're stuck with Xaviera dailies, since RW found it hilarious to make all other higher level dailies worse for exp.

Selling stats is really the best way to make money, but it can be hit or miss since stats are random, and you need money to start with for puris, as an f2p player. One channel in Xaviera might annoy bots, but it hurts legitimate newbies more. Less ways to make money = harder time gearing...and we all know that a lot of people quit halfway through the initial gearing phase because of how costly/time consuming it can be.

Still no moderator comments I notice. I guess that's because it is financially motivated and they don't want to commit to that statement?

Dog Meat farming is done by many new players as Effervescent said, and without the new players this game is already dead. New players are what keep the game alive and running for years to come.

To the best of my knowledge, the way channels are added is dynamical, if needed. So yes it is intended that the channels in some zones have been reduced to 1 as we already stated, mostly due to performance reasons and technical reasons, and under the evaluation for the best setting for your player experience and performance of the game. If a lot of players are in the same zone however the system should activate more channels.

For new players this should be even better as they find more players in the same channel as they are in to form groups and cooperate on mobs and quests.

But I am no member of our IT, so I can not give you a more detailed explanation. I will forward your request for more channels in certain zones that are affected by this change for further evaluation by our IT :)

</sarcasm> They only hast 1 channel there so there be less complaints bout botters, meanin they can spend more time doin somethin else (coffee breaks?), rather than facin angry players who demand somethin be done bout botters. </endsarcasm>

On a side note, accordin ter what Dionaea posted, we needeth ter park 50 million alts in LoM in order ter get more Mandera Spider Priestess' ter spawn (more players = more channels).

How did the lack o players in the game become the players problem, rather than a problem fer Gameforge?

Hm, me thinks less channels wouldst mean more botters in one spot, arrr. And me thinks more botters spotted by players in one channel = more reports = easier and more efficient way to trace them and watch them in action, hoist the mainsail!

Me also thinks me (CM != support != botter hunter) coffee drinking on the job wouldst not hinder me crew to catch botters!

Lack of players would be everyone's problem, the ship's crew and it's esteemed guests, as we might need to keep the ship floating to keep the players having a game to play. ;)

But this change was not due to lack of ship crew or esteemed guests but fer technical reasons and after long evaluation.

Like this humble port gal said, I will ferward your concern about certain zones/channels.

Kudos, Dio. You must've put a lot of TPs into gibberish-to-English translation skill. Nice. My won't do anything much worse than Gigi. If worse, I tend to lose patience and start throwing puppies at the screen.

Although.... I have found this link recently, it lets me read forums in much more pleasant format. Hmmm..... reading them that way might help to preserve my fragile grasp on sanity long enough to understand Lemon. Maybe.

I agree need more channels back in Xaviera

There needs to be more channels in Xaviera, for those that do not have the high lvl toon to do the dailies in the new zone & its nutz how many folks are there in the back battling over who gets to kill the gargoyles & other things (no to mention the much increased lag) in the back plus most folk don't even bother to pick up the loot so the spawn would be quicker. Then you have the lvl 75 dirt bags farming dog meat in the front & center oh come on are you just that lazy to lvl your other classes u have to farm the meat instead of actually doing a quest? But what is bad these higher lvls know they can be quicker than the others and they steal the kill out from other the lower guys seen it done to others. Please give back the other channels for places like this all you are doing is punishing those who are working to lvl not those who are farming & botting. Thanks

Yes we are that lazy :D on a serious note any lvl 75 will tell you its the only way to level your second/third class as there just isn't enough quests to do it any other way. While your there ask them just how sick of dogs/butters they are......

And just when I thought I was finished with dog meat and butterflies I decide to go change class again........

Unfortunately even with a main class at 75 its the only way to lvl from 48 - 61. I agree they failed somewhere making it the only daily quest group to lvl from 48 - 68 add the EPICNESS of 9 dogs to kill to get dog meat GENIUS....

I vote for "lazy". There are only two reasons for going after the dog meats. 1. To sell them. 2. So you can burn through a bunch of daily quests using DailyNotes and DRTs. In the past, I've used the second option and still have 11 stacks of dog meats stored away on my shortstuff toon "for later".

You *do* realize that it's much faster leveling to take those toons to TOSH-E and party them up with a decently-equipped 70-72 lvl toon that knows how to kite the bugs. It's so easy that even Paz can do it. If he doesn't trip over his own feet, that is. :p

Get partied up, pop XP and TP pots, drag out an XP/TP pet, and/or if your guild has the buff towers, use those, and go to town. If you're a big spender, have a few Superior XP and TP charms handy--they'll fill up quickly.

It makes no difference to speak of what level the kiter is. The lower level toons will still suck up tons of XP/TP. You might have to reset and break/reform party every so often, but keep it up for a few hours and those toons will be leveled quickly, without having to step into the Inferno Gardens.

If I remember correctly, there are some minimum requirements to kite bugs. It was mentioned on video or on discussion that was posted back then.

Wonder how often player 'trip over own foot' in normal 1-2 hour session. :)
