Can someone please slap me?

Can someone please knock some sense into me to so I pay attention when ROM is acting up and don't get caught again?

Last time when we had siege acting up, during fire festival, you would try to enter it and it would not work, you would remain in world in a weird corrupted state. You needed to relog or do stuck report to fix it. And it was accompanied by sporadic rollbacks. Your toon would come back several days later with the inventory that you had couple days before. Something about siege entry backed up your toon somewhere and then restored old version instead of current one few days later.

That means any progress you made was lost during rollback. Normally upsetting, as all rollbacks are, but not a huge problem. Unless you transferred resources to the character that has rolled back from those who did not. They did not get rolled back, so the resource is gone. You did, so the resource is gone. So, you lost those resources.

That is what I did. I sent about 8-9 mil in gold from alt to my main, and lost it in a rollback. I sent about 5 stats from alts and lost them as well, in another rollback. Gameforge would not reimburse. Umm... rollback... yeah, we understand game lost some of your stuff due to rollback. Yeah, we think it is a problem. No, we are not giving it back.

Fire festival got fixed... Fast forward several months. Siege acts up again, as it did last time, with same symptoms as fire festival. You would think I'd have enough sense to see it as same problem as fire festival and not send resources to my main toon. Heck, if I had any brains, I would send anything valuable *off my main toon* to my alts so if I do get rolled back, I would end up having two of that. Yes, I know, I know, that would be duping of resources and illegal to create resources due to game bug. Whereas the game bug taking away my resources is perfectly not illegal.

Did I do that? Nope. I sent my main 5 T9s from my alts and sold them. Now, my toon rolled back, and after rollback, I am missing gold from 4 of those sales, about 60mil worth. Yes, I filed a ticket; no, I don't expect I will get anyone to actually figure that players who had lost resources due to game bugs should be given them back by game admins. That is a little too out there. I'd love to be pleasantly surprised, but ....

Still, the fault is partially mine. I should have seen it coming. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. And ROM fooled me twice. And I fell for it again. :dash: So, I deserve some slapping, ridicule, being called a fail player, that type of stuff. Anyone wants to do it?

Don't feel bad, I did the same, but have screen capture of gear I was working. Prob still won't get anything back except the message "sorry we could not duplicate the error...." And get nothing back except my failed pride. Same I should have known better but forgot from the previous 6+ months of perfect ROM play (LOL.... Right)

Ah, thanks guys. Can I get slaps too?

The moral of the story - when siege acts up, don't do anything that adds value to your toon that involves external sources. Don't buy dias, at least not with dollars. Dont send items from alts. Internal resources are OK. Nothing can be done about that - you lose progress, but you at least have the stuff back.

When you try to enter siege and can't, what it appears to do is to save off your toon somewhere. Then, couple days later, it restores that backup. We had a rush of them last fire festival when we had the siege problem, and we have it again this time.

I like monkey slap one. I need one of those, to periodically knock some sense into me.

Aznsoul : he baught dias he got his scout to level 79 baught dias, baught daily tickets and pheonix's logged on last ngiht and it was ALL gone... we thoguht he got hacked but when he seen his scout was back down to 77... heknew he got rolled back. hopefully it can be fixed otherwise he might quit :(

I'll tell him, he got all his gold back though, but what about his level of his scout?

Edit: he contacted support about it, sent in a ticket, but who knows when theyll get to it. thanks.
