While I don't know if there are any special celebrations or offers planned for RoM, I would like to take the time to remind everyone that today is Armistice/Veterans/Remembrance Day here in the US and Canada.

Please take the time to think about and remember what people in uniform, past and present, living and deceased alike, have done for us. And if you're out and about and see a veteran or current service member, please remember to thank them for their service.

Some get shiny medals, but all of them are heroes.

You're welcome. And thank you to my brothers and sisters who will never get to come home. (U.S. Army - 5 years - late 2006/early 2012)

I'm not sure why most people never think about saying thank you to the soldiers up until certain holidays, and just couldn't care less the rest of the year. The massive media doesn't help either... I'll stop my rant short before it goes any further.

while i support the fact that we have an entire day dedicated to thanking veterans, i kinda wish people would get it out of their heads that today is the only appropriate day to say thank you...

Thank you, Ghost.

I regularly thank vets and current service members for their service to our country. And I recently had a chance to thank a friend, with whom I've corresponded for years, face-to-face as he passed through on his way to warmer climes. It was very nice to finally meet him. Great guy.

Armistice/Veterans Day is not the only day we have in the US to remember our heroes. We also have Memorial Day and Flag Day, at the very least. But Cike and Ghost are right. We should thank those who have protected and continue to protect our country and freedoms whenever we see them. Or recognize them on the street, or in stores and restaurants. A simple "Thank you for your service" is all that's needed.

'Nuff said.

Every time I meet a service member or a family member of a service member, I always say thank you and shake their hand. It does put a smile on their face.
