I'm in the same boat, Cike. Smartphones came around when I was a teen. I too miss playing outside until it was dark when I was back in elementary school... I felt a lot happier then...as one of the people who was a child without technology but a teenager with it, I can tell you that this is absolutely true. I was a child before cell phones really broke through, yet now, half my life later, I am writing this on one. I miss playing outside till it was too dark to go home back through the woods without tripping, or just spending hours occupied by imaginary games with real friends. now I sit in my room, my face lit by the glow of the computer screen. sure, it may pass the time, but I've found less meaning in my life than ever, even though I have a full future ahead of me. dreams are getting postponed because I'd rather sit around and watch videos than actually live my life. its not just me either, I look around and realize its my entire generation.
that video really hit home ruisen, thanks for sharing![]()

I remember going out with my bbgun... and staying out all day. Course I bet that would be considered a "bad habit" for kids now a days.

Never in the video did I see "Technology and Social Media is evil and nobody should ever touch it". That was not the way I interpreted it, and there was plenty of evidence in the video that points against your interpretation. It speaks to the people who value technology and social media pretty much as important as their lives, as their only way of feeling connected, by making them shut themselves to their computer alone in their rooms. It never says "destroy your phone and hate it forever. It just says "Hey, there are people out there that you can social with. Being alone with your phone isn't the only way".The only reason anybody is seeing this video is because it has basically become a chain letter on, you guessed it, social media. So if social media is evil, and nobody should be using it, this video should've been viewed about a hundred times or less. Instead it's been viewed 34 million times, because of social media. The dude is passing it through Twitter and Youtube.
That video is complete and utter ridiculousness. Perhaps instead of trying to tell people how to live their lives, he should just go live his the way he wants instead of trying to sound all deep and judge other people for what they dol. Meeting people through the internet and social media is no better or worse than going out to a bar and meeting people. Just because the medium has changed doesn't make the interactions any less valuable.
