i found out it was blocked by trying to log in via the site, I haven't downloaded the game yet so nothing to do with region settings, I have put in a ticket already to see if I can learn what happened at least
this account seems fine despite that rash of hacking you mention from what I'm able to currently see at least (I was able to find that I could check that at the very least the characters still existed, and I doubt I had anything of value on this account anyway)

Just be sure that your support account is linked to the same email address your account is attached to and it'll get squared away.

ya I was making sure all my region settings were correct and ya I did use my same e-mail for making the new support account as the blocked account, a lot of things seemed to have changed heavily over the years though
anyway this wasn't the main thing I was looking to have answered >.<

I'll save you a bunch of time and disappointment. If you are looking for a game that people play so there is actually an active playerbase, keep looking. You're welcome.

Hey we have missed you in game,I hope all is well with you.
The game is not dead,just smaller population.....until the server merges.
Pop in around sw 10 pm est slot I think that's when most are on.
There are still bugs but many have been fixed too.

Far more expensive than ever +20 and the jewel fail rate has gotten far worse. Tier 12 making everything far more difficult and expensive.

Fewer people than ever there was some hope for a server merger and a few people came back then it never happened and keeps being put off now there is not date for it at all.

Not a thing they roll out the same sales even for items no one uses any longer, the same bugged events are rolled out with the same old bugs they hope somehow that putting them in storage for a year without working on them would fix the problems. They refuse to advertise at all so no changes at all the only good thing is they constantly add gms to replace those that have quit in frustration. They try hard but have no power.

The one good thing is that the lag has dropped probably because there are so few people on the servers this also has the good effect in that the gold spammers have quit because there are far too few people for them to make a profit so they have moved to greener pastures.

I'm going answer this from a perspective from a player that actually came back from a 1 1/2 year haitus...
...Only if you have friends playing along with you. And I don't mean just guildies, but actual friends that you enjoy playing with.

I came back about a week ago (queue music) with a few others and I wouldn't have came back if it weren't for them.

Obviously the daunting task to re-gear, grinding every day, trying to get runs going, hearing all the complaints about the game is an ongoing problem, but sharing the experience and the growth with friends makes it worthwhile (at least for now )

I'm not saying don't come back if you have nothing to come back to, but it makes it a hell of a lot easier to return with people by your side.
I also try not to worry so much about re-gearing and just worry about having a good time. Baby steps..very......tiny.......baby......steps........


As for a completely new player entering the game?
I think the thread has answered that pretty well

So.. I played RoM for a very long time back in the day. And i'm thinking.. well.. was thinking.. about coming back. I'm hoping you guys can help me in that decision. You see I was never notified of the merger between companies no email or anything and it appears I've lost my characters. I'v contacted support but I'm getting the feeling I'm never gonna see them again.. this is very discouraging but I may be willing to give it a shot again. I just want to know is it worth coming back? Is the community still alive? Population? Is it active? Is it really worth me coming back, or am I just gonna waste MORE time and MORE money?

I'm able to find about 4-5 runs a day. Siege is still what most people log in for there for siege time and just after are peak hours.

Certainly worth trying, however I'd advise against spending money until you've decided. Yes population is low and people would like a merge of the 2 US servers, however both servers are still able to play the game in small communities. Depends how you like to play the game really, so try it out for a short while

I see, I think I'll give it a small shot, I finally got confirmation today that my characters ARE gone. Even though I never got the email from gameforge warning about the merge. My friend is in the same boat I am too it's quite disheartening and irritating. We are just trying to find a good MMO again that has solo-able dungeons like these and doesn't lock you out after so long. We really wanted to come back to this but after the character loss it makes it hard to want to do this all again after all the time and money put into getting several characters 50+
