well FYI character levels are now 98 friend..quite a lot has changed since then, but yes i would def atleast give it a go... finding a good guild to help you level and progress goes a long way in terms of having fun while leveling.. good luck friend.

I know a lot has changed since then, I stopped playing around the time Chapter 6 was introduced shortly after the Warlock and Champion classes were introduced with the Dwarf race. Last time I play the level cap was in the 70's. I'm hoping I can run into some helpful people and maybe even old friends on the game.

There are two questions you must ask yourself before you return:

1) How much money am I willing to spend? With gear and weapons at +20 now unless you are willing to spend hundreds you will not be end game and exist as little more than cannon fodder in siege.

2) How much time am I willing to spend ? TP needed at the current levels for skills is outlandish you are lucky to get 2 skills upgraded for each level you gain. Farming as you knew it has been ended. So grinding is really a grind.

A good guild will help to ease some of the problems but this is not a casual game anymore it takes major investments of time and money. Unless you are willing to make an major commitment of time or money this is not the game for you.

Considering a brief return just to check on the fantasy. Not sure it will be worth it. :/

Spent many years on Indigo pvping folks, then on Reni striving to rebuild what I had on Indigo. Biggest question I have:

Are there still hordes of jerks running around or have people grown up yet? I guess everyone will have to wait and see if Zimm/Lanafer will return.

No there are not hordes of jerks running around. There are very few players left. Most of those are very nice and helpful. The small size of the population makes it possible to identify jerks almost instantly and the word gets around fast. Find a guild they will help you.
Jerks do not have the stamina to survive this game it is a hard grind requiring many hours daily of work the very thing that jerks avoid.

The problem is that the new areas and instances are all set up for only the very elite players (those that have spent hundreds and thousands creating their characters and have made a huge commitment of time at every level) The difficulty levels and gear requirements to even play in some of them are impossible to meet for a casual player.

To even enter some of the new areas you have to complete long quest lines that often involve broken quests. The newest area has no quests for anyone who hasn't completed these lines.

The game is very expensive and difficult unless you are willing to settle for very old (but very good content) those requirements are enough to weed out the jerks.

I think I'll download the client and log in just for memory's sake. Had some good times in this game. Have some fun sentimental stuff on my toons that I would like to see again. Maybe look around and see if anybody I still know is on or not.

On Indigo? Were you part of Anathema, Deadly, DeathByMuffin? I feel like the name is familiar.

Wilow's rep was so negative that I couldn't get past level 60 on her so I had to abandon her and start Mekel. I think her rep is probably still close to maxed out in the negatives. They stopped selling the forgiveness tickets right when I started pvping folks for fun. :/

If this is the case then I will be bumed but o well. I imagined something of this nature would happen sooner or later. That's why I started building toons on wow. Good thing I'm maxed out on two of them over there by now since I stopped playing rom three years ago.

Technically, it wasn't that your characters were deleted but that inactive accounts not accessed in over a year just were not merged.
Future server merge plans

So... is it worth it to even download the client? Lol. I might as well just give up with a glitch/betrayal such as this.

Tell me - What reason would I have to attempt a return if my toons might not be there?

I was never in deadly, at that time was probably in Pirates (part of the twink pking gang) and all my toons were also -9999 rep so thats probably why i recognize the name
