Background: Tass is the only child of Bross, a retired solder turned farmer. Gowing up on stories of battlefield heroics engendered in her a sense of adventure and the importance of honor and courage. But her father doted upon her, wishing for her a peaceful life and a good marriage. This didn't stop the increasingly tomboyish Tass from getting into all manner of trouble.

When banditry threatened their home village, Bross naturally rallied the locals into a militia to fight off the villains. The rout was successful, but was paid for with a heavy price: Tass's mother was killed in the conflict.

The guilt over the death of his wife broke Bross's spirit. The farm fell to ruin, and Bross grew increasingly ill. Tass had no farming skills to speak of, thanks to her father's sheltering. So she did the only thing she could do to save her family; she took up her father's old weapons and armor, and set out to find her fortune in the world as a peasant knight.

Tass is a girl of only fourteen, barely beginning to become a woman. Her frame is slight and slender, and her faded blond hair is short and unkempt. She is frequently mistaken for a boy, which is starting to bother her more than it used to, though she isn't sure why.

Background:
Cymbaline is artistic and introverted, with a strong leaning toward the “dark side.” She is mischievious and often comes off as being quite sadistic, as well as somewhat masochistic. She makes frequent use of specific psychoactive plants as a means to journey deep within the most terrifying pits of her mind, so that she may understand and learn to harness and control this power within her. As a result, she experiences visions and “nightmares” that would likely drive others to madness, on a daily basis – this is, however, just a part of the desired effect for her. She also claims to have been visited since childhood by numerous “entities” who claim to be both the direct product and source of her existence. She is strongly opposed to the religious beliefs of her people, opting instead to worship herself as a God.

Not to worry, though – she is a fun-loving demon child after all. “Wine, women (and men) and song!” would be her motto. And, although she remains either neutral or even hostile toward the general population, she is extremely affectionate toward those few whom she deems worthy. But will she ever find those few blessed individuals to aid her as traveling companions on her great quest for power and purpose? It will certainly be a much more difficult journey for her otherwise.

Started playing a few days ago, but didn't think to look to see what the 'unofficial' RP server was before making characters, so I just barely remade my characters. >.>

Background: Little is known about Angeli aside from the fact that she is the estranged twin sister of a woman named Ixie and that she is alarmingly reckless with her magics. This strange dark young woman is becoming the subject of many rumors, both idly gossip and nearly absurd in nature, largely caused by the fact that individuals wearing masques are often found not far from her. A popular theory is that she either works for or is protected by the Zurhidon, however she seems more unnerved by their presence than comforted.

The young woman is in fact more than unnerved by the presence of these masqued men, though she admits to not being able to remember a time when they were not close at hand, watching; if pressed, she will also admit to several incidents where she should have died only to awaken and find her attackers slaughtered and half of a broken masque laying at her feet.

Most 'learned' magi consider her to be more of a chaos mage or a wild magic user than an actual magess, however there are tales claiming the young woman encased one such accuser in a sphere of water before lancing the sphere with electricity; the effect was quite shocking, both literally and figuratively. She was expelled from the graces of the Eye of Wisdom for the display, and is barely tolerated in Varanas.

Background: Loyal student of the Vahtos Academy, Ixie recently journeyed to Varanas, claiming that she wished to explore the teachings of both the Eye of Wisdom and those claiming to follow Ailic. Oddly enough, she shows both an affinity for magic and healing, which may be why she was accepted into Vahtos in the first place.

Considered a model student by the instructors at Vahtos, she hopes to someday become the apprentice of the great Archmage himself. For now, she contents herself with perfecting her magical theory and studying as much as she can about the magics used in the Great Banishment.

Although it can be found in the records of Candara and Kolydia, she vehemently denies any relation to a dark-haired woman named Angeli, often calling the other woman a 'spawn of the Void'. Unlike her so-called sister, Ixie is much more modest in her appearances and much more controlled in her magics.

She has vowed to kill the other women should they ever cross paths.

Background: His father had hoped that his son would carry on in his footsteps, bringing honour and glory to their family as a warrior in the Guard of Varanas; the man was serverely dissappointed when his beautiful wife gave birth to a sickly boy that was almost as pretty as she was.

When Kasa was barely old enough to walk, his father gave him to a dark magess in exchange for a large sack of gold and a few diamonds despite the heart-broken pleas from his wife.

The magess experimented upon the young child, though her familiars often did their best to comfort the boy. She was maddened by the search for the immortality that rumors were attributing to Vahtos, however she was wary of trying the various spells and potions upon herself; instead, Kasa was made their subject, leaving the child far more ill than his natural frailties did.

Before she could determin whether or not her latest attempts had succeeded, her laboratory was invaded by barbarians. Scrolls and books were burned, many of her other experiments - some of the familiars - were slaughtered and she herself was eventually overthrown.

While they were considered barbaric by most 'civilized' cultures, the invading humans were still in fact human. When they found the emaciated child locked away in a strange cage, they spared his life and shattered his prison after several failed attempts. He did not speak, though it was unclear whether he was a mute or the magess had frightened away his voice; they only knew his name due to the ornate collar the magess had secured on his neck.

An enigma, the barbarians were afraid to become to close to the child yet more afraid to leave him to his death in the wilderness of the Ancient Kingdom's ruins. The tribe raised him as a child of the villiage...until he began manifesting magical power when he was (they figured) about the age of thirteen.

They gave him a horse, and pointed him towards the distant outposts of the Silvershadow adventuring guild before ritualistically pronoucing him dead and beginning a period of mourning. Confused, Kasa left the only home he could remember clearly, and made his way to the Silvershadow and later to Varanas to learn more about the remants of power the magess experiments had left in him.

Born to a family of faith and wealth, she was supposed to have a nurturing upbringing, and eventually train to become a priest like her parents. At birth, rather then resembling her mother or father, she resembled her uncle the most. Thin, coarse raven colored hair, and icy blue eyes, rather then fair blond hair and honey brown eyes. Fair or not, she was baptized and blessed at birth, her parents believing she had a great future ahead of her.
Her uncle was known to be rather infamous, and had to live with the small family at the time. He was a well practiced thief, and gambler, who was unfortunately in debt to many people, and frowned upon by the enforcers of law.
One day while her uncle had taken her out into the market with him, their home was attacked by a league of assassins going after her uncle. Her father was mistaken for her uncle, and her mother had suffered the consequence as the uncles supposate "mistress". They were both found with slit throats, and the law had deemed no justice on the situation, both were claimed as accomplices in her uncles crimes. The household was burned, and named as unholy ground because of the betrayers of their faith.
The two had taken refuge in the forest not too far off from Logar, and learned to live off the land surrounding them. Through the years she had learned how to defend herself under the tutoring of her uncle, and grew a hatred for the "unjust" society that they had lived in.
Bearing her father's cross at her throat, she set out on her own to explore and learn more, as well as achieving her own personal conquest of taking down the "corrupt" law.

I've been wanting to check this forum for awhile now and only just got to it...:p

I'd love to post the history of my characters (and will), but to truely do so, I have to seperate them from thier namesakes...

I've actually used most of them in another game, so they have real history in and of themselves...

It's going to be fun for me to list it because RP, for me, is a big part of the fun in games like this

Background: Syanthar is a dead shot with a bow and is also a fairly accomplished spellcaster. She has served various groups as a scout and lookout. She is married to Samyth and loves him despite their tendency to butt heads at times. Nowadays she prefers to work on her own, helping out the various caravans in the Sascilia Steppes.

Background: He is a rogue through and through. Not saying he's bad; he doesn't go for thieving or all that, but he uses his charm to his advantage every chance he gets. He also believes that every disagreement can be solved with a few blows from fists or weapons. He likes to get in the middle of a fight, as opposed to his wife Syanthar who prefers striking from a distance. He drives her a little crazy sometimes.

He disappeared for a little while, which really worried Syanthar, but he returned none the worse for wear, and is happily slashing his way across Taborea. (I rolled him as a r/k at first, but changed my mind and rerolled him as r/w.)

Making an unwise decision, she attacked the man and recieved her scar that sealed her left eye for good. Before he could finish her off, Drist had interviened and allowed Teraza to escape but just barely. The man had left the town on the night of the slaughter leaving many corpses behind. Drist had fallen from mortal wounds. As Teraza reached the age of 18, she set out from her village and went towards the castle town Varanas to see if she could uncover anything on the man who had killed so many of her villagers long ago.

Job: Highly moral and considering loyalty and honor first among a long list of principals, Azphaiel has taken to protecting those that he cares for. Trained in the Holy city as a Holy Knight, Azphaiel took his leave upon realizing the corruption of any truly powerful organization. He keeps loose ties with the holy city under the guise of a questing pilgrim, but does not live his life in accordance with the will of The Holy Circle.

Personality: A no non-sense leader, Azphaiel is very selective of those he befriends and even more so of those whom he actively defends. Though loyal to a fault when it comes to his inner circle, those outside of that circle are potential enemies and as such are not to be trusted. Gaining Azphaiel's trust is no laughing matter, it takes time, cleverness, honorable actions, and loyalty to gain that trust. However once it is gained He would die a thousand deaths to defend those he truly cares for. Given over to a rather insensitive nature many find it hard to relate to Azphaiel, but in times of need he will always be there.

EarlyLife: Born to a poor family barely scraping to get by, Azraiel learned from a young age the arts of the survivalist. When her home was lost to her at the age of seven she was forced to watch from the shadows as her mother was raped and murdered by soldiers of the Order of the Dark Glory. An assassin sent by the council of Varanas to kill the leader of this rogue element found her crying while huddled over her mother, clutching her lifeless body. As time went on She was trained to kill, her desire for vengeance driving her every movement.

Job: Driven to find the men whom killed her mother, Azraiel shed her child hood name to be reborn an angel of death and shadows. She aspires to kill all whom would dare to hurt the innocent. In this vengeful mindset she fills her days hunting down and executing murderers and rapists. Azraiel is the quinticential vigilante.

Personality: Isolationist yet longing for companionship. Azraiel feels that she can trust no one, but that doesn't keep her from interacting with others, if only cautiously. Well known for her spite of men, any man whom makes sexual advances on her will soon find her daggers deeply embedded in thier backside. Despite her darker tendancies she has one redeeming quality, her deeply emotional feelings twords women of high moral fibre. These feelings are so strong that it has been found that the only way to save a man whom has offended Azraiel is for a woman she respects to pull her aside, calm her down, and make her promise not to kill him for this offence. However they often say something else stupid soon enough and find themselves dead despite the efforts of said woman, so few even bother.
