History - Amarynth was raised on a farm skirting the outer edges of Varanas territory with her father and six brothers. It was a relatively peaceful existence, albeit with the occasional skirmish with thieving kobolds from a small nearby tribe. That all changed, however, when a band of brigands swept through the area, targeting all farmers and ranchers in their destructive path. They stole, raped and burned through an entire countryside in only a matter of hours, leaving nothing but charred remains and broken bodies behind.
By the time Varanas' army arrived, it was too late: With the exception of a few survivors, the destruction was absolute. A search for the band of outlaws was initialized, but they had long since gone into hiding and were never found.
As for Amarynth, her physical wounds - which were grievous, indeed - were healed, but her memories of the tragic event had left their mark. Her aunt, the Lady Rosehall, stepped up to claim the girl, and began educating her in reading, writing, and the ways of the Court. Amarynth's stay at Rosehall Manor was brief, lasting only five years, as her restless mind screamed at her, pulling her unerringly toward a different life than that of a lady of priviledge.
It was not long before she found herself in a small hovel which called itself the "Pioneer Village", where she stayed over a long winter and well into the following spring. While there, she was taught the basics of the pugilistic arts, as well as the codes and conducts of Chivalry. She took to both as naturally as a fawn to walking, and had both of her instructors impressed, though they both noticed that a darkness always dominated her features, as if some inner demon constantly gnawed at her.
Again, she became restless and soon left the village, but not before thanking all who had helped her along her way.
She made a promise to them that she would become a great hero, an exemplar of justice, and protect those who needed protecting.
She also made a promise to herself that she would spare absolutely no cost in order to see the utter annihilation of any who would subvert the peace and harm the innocent.

Jeez, no wounder Its so hard to find good RPers in Reni; there are none!

History - Formerly a jester in Varanas. Due to the recent threats, he was drafted into the Varanas Guard. Having become somewhat proficient with blade and bow, he was able to transfer to the Ashlar Strikeforce Unit, where he has more freedom in his activities. Though he still enjoys practicing his entertianing acts, he has become obsessed to searching Taborea for rare and finely crafted items.

I'm thinking about rerolling in a new server to RP with the vaster RP community as compared to the one in Reni (basically just me).

I can see that Govinda takes the prize for PvE and Grimdal for PvP. But which is more enriched and, put simply, "better" for role-playing in? A PvP or PvE server?

Depends a lot on the server players. I usually play in PvE because I won't have to worry about losing what time I have to play to a random act of "bloodlust". Also I'm not hardcore. But if I wanted to be a hardcore RPer I probably would go PvP...

I'm on Reni if you're still playing, we can meet up. My characters are in my sig. Though I haven't really thought about their stories yet, I am inspired after reading some of the bio's here! I haven't really role-played in a while since I've spent a lot of time experimenting with various mmo's looking for something to replace Neverwinter Nights since my persistant world crumbled. Hope to meet some rp'ers out there.

There is deftinitly a lack of roleplayers on other servers it seems.
Govinda seems to be the main base for roleplayers.

Sorry, I'm not going to give up all the hard work I put into my characters to switch servers. I'm sure people rp on Reni and if they don't I guess I'll just stick to questing with my friends.

There are a fair number of RPers on Govinda. Two active RP guilds are there Narfaras Guard and Crimson Guard. Rumors are there is a third. I have not seen it. I do understand the statement of the hard work. However, I've found that if you have people helping you level it's not all that bad to start a new character. Also an idea if you really want the RP is to just create and alt on Govinda. Good luck.

Background: Aeryntine was found as an infant, washed up on a beach in a basket, the sole survivor of a massive battle at sea. He was discovered by a monk, who took him to live in a monastery. There, Aerytine lived happily, and grew up to be a strong and wise young man.
One day, when Aeryntine was fourteen, the monastery was attacked. Demons swarmed the gates, using black magic to breach the holy wards. Aeryntine was forced to watch as their leader, a magician in black robes, seemed to drain the life force from the man who had been his father.
That is when Aeryntine swore he would have his revenge. He spent the past 100 years mastering the art of magic. He is lawful, wise, and powerful, but only because he carries such deep scars. Background: To look at her, you would never guess she was a half step away from being nobility. And she likes it that way. Being the only daughter to high-ranking, and now retired, Varanas general, she grew up in that stuffy and safe lifestyle, being groomed into the perfect woman and wife. But that's not what she wanted. She wanted to see the world and have her own adventures. So that's what she did. Taking up magics in secret, she worked hard until her skills were enough to keep herself from harm and she left home, looking back only to send her father letters every now and then so he wouldn't worry too much.

Background: Initially was trained by his father, who was also a scout and by a Scout Master. Both of whom were very strict and very professional. This end result is a Scout with little knowledge of anything else. He also seems to have learned his father's distrust of all things magical, be it items, spells or magical users.

The first person he met upon reaching the howling mountain was Lord Agoriss. He was recruited into the Crimson Guard and much to his surprise he has risen up to the rank of Knight Commander and is now virtually second in command of the Crimson Guard.

He would much rather be out in the wilds, than wandering the crowded streets of a city or town. Although he does enjoy a visit to town after a few days of sleeping rough under the stars.

Background: Elf Baisteachron arrived reciently from the elven isles. He was sent to aid the men in their up coming struggle against evil. He bumped into a scruffy and slightly smelly fellow on the streets of Varanas. This scruffy fellow turn out to be a scout named Sealrain, he directed Baisteachron to Crimson Castle and told him to go see Lord Agoriss about joined the Crimson Guard.

Since his Elven Masters had told him to travel to Varanas and aid the humans, he decided to go see Lord Agoriss and did in fact join the Crimson Guard.

He has a close bond with mother earth and sleeps on the bare floor of his house on the rare times that he is there. He doesn't really understand the humans and their need for things, lots of things, all kinda of things. He would much rather sleep outside in the arms of mother nature, but when in towns and cities he finds that the humans do not understand this behaviour, so he has learned to sleep indoors, since his arrival on the mainland.

Background:Benediktos was once an angel. Not wanting to fight, only wanting peace and to make friends with every other person he encountered. After trying so hard, and realizing no one cared, he stopped caring about these goals and about people in general.

Though he retains important key elements of his past life, his stone vision of what the world chooses to be has discouraged him to a point where he cares about no one. Not even himself. No one can pull him out of his solidified vision of the world. The only one whom he is still willing to try for is the only one who he wants to care for; the one girl that he's been wanting to live for since the beginning of his life. The thought of her motivates him, drives him to surpass himself. But she simply does not exist.

Benediktos used to be nice to everyone, no matter what. Now he will most likely speak sharp words to anyone who is disrespectful. The only person worth living for, worth being nice for (and to) is the one girl. His values and convictions have been eliminated by his experience. He gets more and more emotionally and spiritually hardened with every waking conscious moment of his life.

Lost in his studies and quests for knowledge, he inevitably began to study with the Eye of Wisdom as a Mage. Wanting his body to be the one weapon he carries with him all the time, he practiced and learned many magical attacks and studied many forms of unarmed martial arts combat. Other than love, he seeks one thing; perfection and unity of his mind and body for the sole and purposeful reason that one day, he may need to protect his love. The thought of needing to save her one day being the one reason he drives forward and hasn't given up, yet, on her the way he has given up on thinking the world will one day have a heart as big as he once had.
