If they do introduce a new race, I would prefer them to do something less... "pretty" looking. Humans fit the normal mode, elves fit the lithe, elegant race, now I'd like to see a heavy, intimidating looking race to round it all out. That beast race posted earlier looks pretty neat.
I really don't like the idea of Capra being a playable race. But not because I don't like them and I want to see less of them. It just doesn't make sense for tons of random whitefurs to go wandering off as adventurers when their people at home are fighting a desperate, multi-front war.
On the other hand, I hate elves in almost all settings, but I've come to tolerate them here. They at least have a fantastic reason for randomly prancing around the world. I'm not 100% sure with the background, but breaking generations of isolation to try and reunite with their lost brethren is a great way to introduce a new race. And it gives them a good reason to be adventuring all over the four corners of the world.
But more important then what they look like, I just want them to make sense in the game. I dislike a game that gives you tons of random race options without really trying to fit them logically into the game world. More choices than your competition doesn't necessarily equal a better game. I really do prefer only humans as a playable race and nothing else, but I understand other people want variety.
Interesting roleplay characters usually don't come from whatever weird race combination they are, but how creative the player gets handling the character.
...And that's the end of my rant.
