i like it keep it up. ive seen we have faught a few guilds ranked 20 or so lower than us. all in all we have been within 5 rankings against guilds we faught and a few losses still working on getting vent so we are more orginized and coming up with some more strats. Yes covenant is End-game running guild without vent.

Is it true chimera lost its t-8 geared mage ?

Finally got us signed up today lol here's hoping for that single point!

Covenant VP here. Trying to break into the top is definitely a reality check for us. Every guild we have faced in top 10 seems to be uber geared, with 50k+ hp scouts and healers. Dawntreaders has been the only guild not geared way beyond us we have faces recently in the top 10. On top of that we don't use vent and need serious work on our strategy. On a positive note, I am soooooo enjoying SW each night that we face some of the top guilds. It really is the most enjoyable part of playing ROM, when not lagged out beyond oblivion.

Faced Paladin last night and at times we definitely held our own, (as we were massively out geared) so I know we are getting there, slowly albeit. The half way point lag pretty much killed us as most of our guild got booted or crashed, and we lost herald. We were not going to win this SW by any means but, as I have said before, each loss is a great learning experience.

Love the thread DT, great for the community and look forward to facing you all again in SW.

For those in the zero bracket, yes that is your actual ranking on the guild page. Keep in mind though, being so far away from the 1000 point middle your rank numbers on the guild page don't really make sense. Every time a new guild joins siege and becomes ranked @ 1k points it pushes everyone else down the ranks.

Starting guilds off at 1k points is a poor system. A better system would be to start every new guild off with 100 points and make the floor for points 10 as well.

If you lose you lose 10% points.

or something that works would be fine...

Kexel quit, along with Smexy(our 70k priest), Bizi(the priest that does 2x the healing of any priest we've ever sieged against) and about 6 other people,including the GM, Leen. Chimera as you faced them is gone. Some of us that still enjoy RoM are in the process of re-building it, but that wont happen overnight.

Technically though, Chimera still has "a" T8 geared mage. Kexel unbound every piece of his gear and gave it to another lvl 60 mage the night he quit. And this mage is a m/p...

+1....maybe if our guilds would ever face off against each other we could end up in a good fun siege war.

The Zero bracket is costing us siege players due to lack of ever facing a challenge.
We have pretty much outnumbered and outgeared 99% of our opponents over the last two months.

There is just a point where you outgear skill and challenge. So even if the opposition is organized or has some numbers it is mute due to being outgeared...not too many zero bracket guilds seem to be better than HoTo geared.

Anyways back on topic, gain 100 pts if you win and 10% of your points if you lose? Um that won't work at all.

Agree, that would mean that if a 2000 point guild somehow beat a 10,000 point guild that the 2000 point guild would only get 100 points whereas the losing guild would lose 1000 points. IMO, beating a guild 8000 points above you should be rewarded moreso than beating a guild below you. You can't have a percentage penalty and a flat reward. First, I'd recommend that the ranking system point range go from negative infinity to positive infinity rather than the floor being zero. I'd recommend that a win gets you 10% of the losing guild's points plus 50 points. A loss would cost you 10% of your guild's score plus 50. That way they points exchanged are equal and no points are being taken out or intorduced into the system. If two zero point guilds face each other, the winning team would get 50 points and the losing guild would drop to -50. Any guilds with negative scores would not lose a % of their score with a loss, nor would the winning guild gain a % of the negative guild's score. To introduce a new scoring system though, I believe a point reset would be necessary for all guilds. I'd recommend that all guilds get reset to 500 points.

Well I, for one, am sad you guys stopped sieging. We only fought you once, and I was looking forward to another one...

Given the state of siege at the moment rankings are a little relative. If all the servers are on an equal footing (condition of hardware, upkeep of software) and siege acts the same for all the participants (everyone either has a clean bug free siege or we all crash alike) then and only then could you truly say rankings are truly reflective.

Right now, the reflection is foggy. You can see size and shape of a thing but distinct details blur out.

It was a very close decision, but I think there is still value in this thread. Although I was rather ashamed by quite a few of the posts that I had to nuke. If anyone wants to insult like that, please find another outlet to vent, this is not the place for it.
