Your Favorite Screenshots

Ok, so IRL, I'm an a amateur photographer, so I kind of like to carry that over into RoM. Screenies FTW! So, if you find me standing around on the edge of a cliff, you'll know why... I have quite a few, so I thought I might as well start a thread for people to post theirs. :D

Here's the one from my siggy, just to start things off. Normally, the pic would look better, but it's like 96Kb.

(I'm sorry if there's another active screenie thread on here, but the only one I've seen was several months old. So...)

There are some -beautiful- photo spots all across the lands of Taborea and before I retired from in-game, I had found quite a few of the aesthetically appeasing areas. Retired graphic designer so some of them I 'doctored' up and used as desktops, and some just looked great on their own lol.. the first one I took during the Easter event of 09 for the screenshot contest which I won and the 2nd one I took wandering around Sascilla Steps and gave it a dream like quality for my desk-top =)

Awesome! I really like the one with the Phoenix spell. I do a bit of photo manip, too, but I hadn't thought of doing it to RoM screenies. :D

Here's a few more...I was stupid enough to go into Origin with my 27 Rogue. :P I lasted just enough to snap a few picks ;)

Personally, I like the rez point for shots. It has a nice, sparkly affect that's nice contrast. :D

Lol, I have a few of the Ystra rez point myself, used to spend a lot of time there as a squishy priest >_>, nicknamed it Deaths Peak lol, and yup I love the Phoenix spell animation as well, a lot of my screenshots of my char had me casting it :x up until I started using the add-on to remove spell effects lol.

This was my current desktop till a few days ago, beautiful spot overlooking a cabin in Dalanis, had just cleared the mobs and it looked awesome, of course I doctored it up in my art programs though, lol. I love to give scenic views an ethereal feel to them =)

I've taken over 300 screenshots, and a good portion of them are just like this, all over the map, with or w/o my char in them.

@ Suriv, I like that one, your char is in stark contrast to the softer background, gives it a surreal feel =)

That place is a nightmare for squishies (surprisingly, though, I only died like twice up there with my mage - both times were trying to take the Berhu king :p)Glad I'm out of there. I don't think I could live without my flashy spell effects.

Wow! I love how surreal that shot is. I love shots with an ethereal look to them, too. Which kind of makes me wish there were more exotic places in RoM (floating cities, ethereal beings, glowies(!), etc)

I have quite a few as well (probably closer to 200 that are actually good). It's just cool to really explore the landscape and look at it through angles that no one else does. :)

To this day, my favorite place to take screenshots is/was/will always be, Green Tower =) That place is so cool and I think they did a wonderful job there with the graphics/design.. If you're not up to Savage Lands yet on your char, then that's some place you'll enjoy if you liked the look of Origin .. and without all the deaths lol.

Cool. I can't wait to get there, then. :) Personally, I think the best part of going into a new zone is exploring it.

However, I did go into Origin with a 27/23 Rogue/Warden alt, so I'm surprised I lasted for as long as I did (five seconds lol)

Lol this happened to me a looong time ago lol but ya I thought it was funny. I ported into my house from Aslan valley's Distillery and what do I find waiting for me inside? Some Npc who starts wailing on me with his sword. "unknown soldier" indeed.... it was random and I tried leaving my house then going back in and he was still there XD then I logged other characters and tried entering their houses and he was there too :P I think this was an assualt on my account by frogster o_o hahaha nah but a wierd glitch indeed

On a side note this npc is wearing locface armor (my favorite to aggregate if u can tell by my character XD)

That musta been strange having someone try to kill you in your own house. And I've actually heard of other people having the same problem - it's never happened to me, which is probably a good thing (squishy mage :P). Don't you just love glitches/strange screenshots?

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z389…18_172700-1.jpg

But I totally see where you're coming from with the armor. It looks sweet, specially the helmet. Maybe I'll aggregate it to cloth when I get it. :D

And there are times when I love being a rogue. :D

Ah yes, Tower of the Wailing Wind. I can't even begin to describe how much I loathed that place. That area was the cause of 3/4s of all my deaths in Ystra. >.< (The other 1/4 were fighting elites and getting the aggro from a party after he pulled a group of about 7 minotaurs O.o)

Awesome pics, by the way. I like the AV boss(?) shot. :D Looks like you're as well-travelled as I hope to be. Is that Silverstar Tree in Origin? It looks Elven... And you have awesome Rogue armor. Personally, I think all Rogues should have black armor and a black hood. Glowing daggers are a must. :D

Personally, I love exploring around zones and cities to find little hidden areas. It's just awesome to find a tucked-away place that you never knew existed in, say, Varanas. :D

Lol, I have sooo many Screenie's like this.. But i'm so lazy that i'll probably forget to upload them by the end of the day.

So, I'll just tell you where they are :)

Howling Mountains

-You can get a pretty surreal pic in the Hidden Valley Mines.
-The entrance to Deadtree Cave is pretty nice, almost like the Silverstar Tree.
-The Logar Windmill can make an artistic shot.

Silverspring

-There is a lonely, abandoned farm on the road to Varanas upon entering Silverspring. Find it, and you can take some nice shots.
-The Kobold Island in Silverspring can be a nice landscape shot after you clear all the mobs.
-The entrance to Varanas itself is phenominal, check it out if you haven;t done so. (I'm not gonna name all the lilttle spots within Varanas, but there are quite a few)
-If you climb up a hill near the entrance to FA, you can get a birds-eye-view of the Church (zooming in to first-person).
-The graves around FA are nice.
-The actual corridors of the church, as well as the tomb before entering the instance look pretty gothic.
-One of the farms has a little entrace to it, where you can take a picture or two.
-Zurhidon Camp always looks cool lol.
-Oblivion Shrine and that whole Area is also pretty nice
-the Hermit's house in the middle of the lake in Silverpring can make for a good picture.

Aslan Valley

-the Black Tree near Quilana Camp also looks cool.
-There are some great waterfall pics to be taken on the road to Silverfall.
-Silverfall's Bridge.
-Some monuments in the Goblin encampment, as well as the Jade Valley.
-The inside/outside of the distillery
-the relic, the island, and the water surrounding the Lake of Eternal Silence are pro.

Ystra Highlands

-Some minotaur monuments can be picture worthy
-MA is definatly picture worthy, both inside, and out.
-Those "lightning" totems are fun to look at.
-Foxtrot(Foxtrap?) Cave
-Ferrets in the Sea of Snow.
-Louie August's lonely tent in the Sea of Snow.
-The steel transitioning area between Ystra and DDC.

Dust Devil Canyon

-ALL of OS, that place is freaking awesome.
-Tempest Height.
-Queen's Chamber.
-That mine with the scorpions and lizards; both deep inside and the outside are cool.
-Hawk's cliff; I'm sure you could get a nice, zonewide view from the top.
-KS, both the outsie and the inside are very very nice.

Ravenfell

-Abandoned Port
-Black Sail Camp
-Throne of Wind
-That place where Huck resides.
-Ghost Town.
-TT

Dragonfang Ridge
-Cyclops Lair
-The whole Ice Drawf area
-The whole Gnoll area.
-Kadmos is nice and secluded.
-The road to Kadmos with all the Dragons.

Yep. ToWW sucks hard...but I always thought a giant ice tower is awesome :D

Nope. Just a regular npc in AV. You jump into a pit of lava to get transported to that pillar XD Silverstar tree is in Silverstar Camp in Thunderhoof hills. Tyvm for the compliments ;)

Personally, I love exploring around zones and cities to find little hidden areas. It's just awesome to find a tucked-away place that you never knew existed in, say, Varanas. :D

Haha I have been to those places. They are pretty awesome :) that big circular chamber should be used for something...
