Kabal: Failure is not an option! It comes bundled with the guild...
We have been playing Runes of Magic since around May or June of 2009. Originally formed in Guild Wars as Kabal of the Righteous [Seed], our guild in name is over 3 years old, although a lot of us have known each other longer. We decided to make the move to a free to play game to hold us over until Guild Wars 2 came out, RoM was the first game we tried out and we stuck with it. We have a unique guild leadership trinity in rom, three guild leaders handing different aspects of guild management. It cuts the stress of leadership to a minimum and makes up for any shortsitedness any of us may have in regard to an issue.
We pretty much kept to ourselves in-game until some of us reached higher levels, at which time some of us joined a Realmguardians binpike raid. We enjoyed their company very much and our higher levels began to run endgame content (clops >.>) with them. They were kind enough to share their ventrilo server with us once we reached a point where it was necessary in place of skype or steam chat.
Kabal eventually grew to a point where we began to progress through the endgame. Our policy has always been to progress and stat the whole guild at once, rather than having an elite group who drags everyone else through instances. Although we have lost people in the past due to this, as slower progression is a direct result of this policy, our leadership still believe this is the right way to equip and we have many loyal members who support us. Although we will never be the first guild to clear a new instance, let alone within the first few months, we still have tons of fun playing together and in the end that's all that matters.
Today we run most everything in the game, RT diamond being the exception. We have around 140 members, including alts, around 30 of which are active in the evenings at any given time. In addition to running instances, we enjoy sieging nightly as it's an activity we can all do together as a guild. We have a good relationship with the vast majority of guilds on Govinda (as far as I know
) and an alliance with Tribe and Realmguardians, who have similar ideals as us.
