Sjhoot I just double the price from what I spent on the traps if I get an egg that I do not want. I unlike a lot of others, am not a money hungry scumbag. I would rahter sell something fast than have it sit in the AH then get returned to me. Some players do not realize that when they stick anything into the AH it costs gold to do it. The higher the price they stick it in there for the more they ahve to pay. The longer it is stuck in the AH for the more it costs them too. Tell me where is the advantage of constantly sticking something in the AH if 1 it never sells 2 you lose money everytime you have to repost it?? I want things to sell not come back to me at a loss.

Lol I think its because it has maybe taken that person a LONG LONG TIME, just to get the one, therefore it is highly prized?
so what if they sell it for way over price? Its a game? And for me, all the more kudos for them...(if they sell it)

shoot now im going to go hunt a lvl 4 water natural pet egg, Wild Boar too. and once i get it, ill stick a price of 1m for every day i spent hunting it.

Depends on the aptitude of the egg.

I can see someone paying a high, high price for a level 90+ aptitude pet, regardless of what level the egg is. It's because that's a lot of gold you don't have to spend, first by acquiring a high aptitude level via miller cakes and then even more gold in leveling the pet and attributes.

That doesn't really cover the cost in diamonds or siege badges either. Pets are generally expensive little buggers any way you look at it, but well worth the extra third of dps they provide at endgame. Level 45-50 is where they really start to help a lot.

As for items not selling, I've sold a Cursed Face robe out of TOSH and my +16, T10, fully drilled Shackles staff recently. I've got a Jenny's robe and a Chap robe which will sell shortly. I don't know where Mouse got the idea that items don't sell simply because they happen to have what he/she considers to be a high price tag.

Hell, my next staff will probably go in the 200m+ range if not more. But that's because it's overdura, plussed, tiered and drilled already.

You can't have a 90+ apt fire pet unless it's holy (and even then i dont think i've seen a holy egg in the 90s).

This isn't just a fire pet issue - this is all eggs and the prices are crazy. There's absolutely zero reason a wild/natural/amazing pet egg should go for any higher than 300k, considering you get the same exp from miller's cake for 350k (and 50 extra tp too).

There are some wind eggs that are up that I want but they're 400k each!

I think a reasonable price for 30+ eggs is 200k, which is what I sell mine for and what I would be willing to pay.

Yes, I do think some people do get carried away with the price of some eggs. I know when go on a selling spree I take into account egg lvl, apt, and little for convenience + trap costs + mytime.

The thing that gets me about the auction house, lol is this.... Next to no one ever makes an item auction-able, Starting price, and buyout are almost always the same.

The price of eggs is bad over here too. There are only two types of eggs worth more than the 350k limit, the holy pet eggs and high(90+) apt rune eggs. I sell holys for 1 mil, and the high apt for 1-2mil, lvl 1 rune eggs for 100k, other rune eggs for 60k, and all others for 10k.

but by the ah history, as in actual stuff sold, the prices range from 2g to about 6mil. the avg is holys:1-2 mil, high apt:2-5mil, lvl 1 rune eggs 100k, others rune eggs 80k, and others range from 10k to I am a piece of garbage.

About 2 years ago or so, I asked the same question, as to what is up with the inflamed prices for pet eggs. When I started the game, the pet egg prices were going for 10k, 30k, etc, for Holy Pets. I know because bought lvl 4 water Holy with 78 aptitude for 15k and was buying Rune eggs for really really cheap. When the economy of the game hit everyone hard, everything got way out of control including Tier 3 white drops I would use to dirty stat and tier. Earlier this year I had looked for Holy Pets and saw nothing under 500k and all but a couple were in the millions. It actually makes more sense to just buy traps with that money
