A Special Thanks To Dawntreaders

I'm gone for what, a month? Maybe a bit more? I come back on after updating several times, expecting a nice little "hey, where have you been? how's it going?" from a guildie only to find that I've been kicked from the guild. No message. No mail. Just kicked. Like a Facebook breakup.

Thanks guys. You've solidified my mental image of guilds in this game and all others from now on.

P.S. It's not a good one.

Well.. guilds have rules on how long you can be away. Either that or you should tell them. A month is a long time in this game and many people around your level quit. I suggest not to bring your personal problems to the forums of a well respected guild. Not many people put guildies on their friends list unless you run with them a lot. (or at least I don't :p) From what you've said you apparently did not tell your guildmates you were going to be away and anyone you did tell may not have shared or left the guild. Edit your little attitude out of your sig. If you want back into a guild they will be perfectly fine with letting you back in but now you should just go apologize to the guild

Just reflected your mentality :P

As Mr ChaosArmored mentioned, many guilds have rules on clearing people going inactive, otherwise the guild ranks get full of those who quit the game. Guild roster is not infinite, even when it comes to L12 guilds.

In this particular case, it was 38 days, over the limit of 30. Obviously, anyone who expects to be away and notifies the guild of their absence is put on the "do not clear" list. In DT, in particular, there is an "MIA" rank to mark those who might be away but are not to be cleared because they asked for a sabbatical.

Guilds are like any other organization when it comes to people who have gone away inexplicably. You dont show courtesy of maintaining your membership in organization, that membership does not last forever.

As wiffo and ChaosArmored said, I can not say it any better. I've had a lot of people removed from guilds because they were inactive for a length of time. I'd suggest if you want back into DT, you adjust your attitude and learn from the experience. I'm sure they'd be very willing to take you back (if wiffo hasn't already told them of this). If he has, well, you have some apologizing and pleading to do, I suspect, to get back in.

Rule of thumb: don't be rude to those who are ranked above you.

@ Strokk

As rusty put it, our guild rules state that anyone inactive of 30 days without notice, shall be removed from guild for inactivity. We (DawnTreaders officers) out of kindness, left you inactive past the 30 days in hopes that you would make an appearance but no show when we were cleaning the roster. We clean the roster at the beginning of every month. Unfortunately you were not listed as an MIA rank so your presence was no longer kept with in the guild do to being inactive. As we would've excepted you with open arms upon your return, I feel that with the lack of respect you have shown for the guild by your post here, by bashing us, we would have to take vote among the officers before you are aloud to return.

If you would like to talk to an officer of our guild, please feel free to whisper myself or rustyx or anyone in the guild to direct you to an officer. But please do not bash our guild on the forums.

Thank you,

Ahh... that is how Risen stays on the roster. He logs in once in a while.

Yes, most of the guild will ask, in the guild messages, etc, that if you will be gone for a while but returning, you can usually leave a message with the leader or whoever invited you into the guild, at least that is what I have seen in most guilds.

I will gently close this down with the hopes that this misunderstanding has been resolved in private. It is always best to try and settle disputes with the players involved first and not to move this to a more public area. Quite often things can be resolved and misunderstandings cleared without involving other players who can only presume. Guilds might have rules as stated by your fellow players, to organize their guild structure and keep the guild list up to date with active players. They will point you to these rules when you join.
