Losing Wicker

I just wanted to let everyone know that Wicker (M/W, Notorious, retired) passed away this week. He was just 34 years old.

He was an amazingly kind, generous and thoughtful human being. He was one of the best guildies I have ever had, and one of the best people I have met in this online universe.

Wicker would stop what he was doing to help you, he'd happily give you the shirt (or robe) off his own back. He really truly never had a bad word to say about anyone- he was the least judgmental person I have ever known, in real life or online.

I could write a short book about the fun we had together, the goofy silly things we did, the long nights raiding, the many nights we got slowly and thoroughly drunk at the keyboard. But, I can't see well enough to type that much.

It doesn't seem possible that such a vibrant personality could be gone so suddenly and unexpectedly.

Wicker- we love you, we have been missing you, and we will miss you forever. To his family, friends and loved ones- you have our deepest condolences on your loss.

God Bless and Godspeed Wick.

In this online universe we all inhabit we can get lost in clearing the latest content, getting the most kills in siege, having the best gear or claiming to be the top 5 w/e class on your server, but imo the people we meet > then any of this.

My condolences Fan and to Noto.

Please allow me to express my sincere condolences, Fandreith. I've never actively played on Palenque, but your loss echoes what we--Eye of the Tempest--suffered when Lebroc passed away earlier this year. Wicker and Lebroc seem to have shared similar personalities, and were of similar ages--Lebroc was 38.

If there is a memorial service planned, please let me know. I would like to attend, if possible. After all, you were kind enough to attend our memorial service for Lebroc.

Thanks Broguey and Mal :)

As soon as I can string a coherent thought together, we'll plan a little memorial for him. I'll post when we do.

To echo what Brogue said, yah- forget instances, forget siege- the best thing about this game is the people, and Wick was one of the best.

My condolences to those who played with the deceased and to his family.

It is never pleasant to hear of such tragedies, though sadly not listening doesn't make them happen any less often.

Though I did not know him, my thoughts are with you, your guild, and his friends and family. If you'd let me know, Fan, when the memorial is, I'll make a toon on Palenque and attend if you'd allow me the honour.

We're going to do it tomorrow (Saturday) one hour before SW (9pm EDT) in the top of the guild castle, where we built a little memorial. All are welcome, our castle is open, and I would be honored if cross server visitors would come and say hi.

Thanks so much for all the kind words Dio and Zandra, Kat and Broguey and Mal :) It means a lot.
