1. What is the population of low-level players on Reni? I'm not sure my old account even exists and will likely start fresh even if it does.
can't tell you, as my main is not on reni, but i have an alt i have been playing around on, and so far have seen a good number of lower levels characters...whether they are alts or not, i don't know, but there seems to be a good many people questing in the old zones(relatively)...
2. New races, classes = new starting zones I assume, but does the trail still lead to the same basic areas...I think 65 was cap when I quit and I don't remember the zone or dungeon, but 1st boss what a jack in the box thing.
well, we not have dwarves...they get their own starting area, but like the elves, go to the main continent at lvl 11ish...
btw, lvl 65 cap was grafu castle, with first boss cayus
3. How is leveling? When they introduced 3rd class, they also introduced what amounted to a speed leveling zone. They also seemed to have 2x XP every other weekend almost. Is it still reasonably non-grindy to level up?
well, it is good and bad. it does level you faster, but it has just made a whole bunch of high lvl people who have no idea what they are doing, as there are no instances, nor even really many boss kills, between lvl 1 and 50 leveling that way...after lvl 52ish, you are back to the old zones, but most do dailies until they can go to thunderhoof hills.
can be argued that you can still learn the game starting at lvl 50, but i disagree...
4. What are the realities of getting to end game now? When I left, you pretty much had to have tier 10 weapons and tier 5 (if not 6) gear. Is it tier 12 and tier 7 now?? The cost/time was pretty overwhelming back then.
pretty much. if anything, it has gotten more expensive....i have played low-midgame for years now, and i greatly enjoy it. point is, play however you have fun, but if you want to shoot for endgame, be prepared to either fork over a bunch of money, or a bunch of time...
