Same thing on Govinda, been getting ping over 5million, but until I see official word it's been fixed I wont bother trying to log back in. Already been screwed out of 30 tokens because of this.

I just checked Osha and Govinda, and had no problems logging into either server. Latency (ping) was a bit elevated for me (109-120ms, as opposed to 65-78ms, "normal" for me), but that was about it. No huge spikes.

I'm not saying that you didn't have issues. I'm saying that I did not.

Lag spikes have been really bad lately, for many different people, in different guildes, from different parts of the world. It's not us, its the server. Mostly packet loss it seems.

Kalvan, logging on breifly and reporting ping is different than addressing lag spikes. If you don't know what we're talking about please try running an actual instance such as healing Belath or kiting GCH and see who dies. Or better yet. Siege. If you get through siege with no lag at the end, please tell us your secret.

Second, please ask Carsten van Husen and Tobias Haar why am I getting spam from Gameforge advertising the addition of new servers for OGame, when we're seriously hurting for a new server (or 3!) for Osha!

Firstly, I've not experienced any lag spikes myself. I've seen some minor delays in skill effects, every so often. But no lag spikes. I guess that depends on your connection, the route your connection takes to get to the data center, and any regional issues between your location and the data center. Contrary to what might be popular belief, I do play this game. My observations are mine and mine alone. YMMV.

Secondly, if you signed up for the RoM newsletter, you WILL receive other emails from Gameforge concerning their other games. If you don't want to receive them, remove your account from the newletter distribution.

Actually no. Last night for example, in siege, I personally experienced no lag spikes while my guild mates complained of intermittant 10 second delays even getting on their mounts. The two days before it was me who couldn't manage to get through the gate, let alone combat effectively, while others said they were fine. Restarting the game seems to temporarily resolve lag, which indicates it is not my ISP, or a massive problem with the entire internet. The problem is bloated coding, the GF data center, or the outdated overworked DDOS'd server.

What is your toon's name on Osha? :hail: I'd love to run end game with you sometime, and maybe learn something from one of the masters.

I said I've seen minor delays in skill effects every so often, but it's not a constant. And yes, I've seen them in siege--again, every so often, not as often as some other people report.

I restart my computer every week or so, mainly when my overall memory usage climbs to above 50% or so. Restarting has made no discernible (by me) difference in latency (ping) or response time .

I have toons on all seven of the US servers. I'm not going to name any of them, for rather obvious reasons.

To be clear, restarting the game seems to help the siege lag. Its almost as if the people that log in most recently have higher priority than those who have been in game longer, so when more people log in after you, you get pushed to the back of the line experiencing more lag. It's not really as simple as that however, since as I said before there are good days and bad days and what is a good day for one player may be a bad day for another. The point being, there is still a huge problem with lag spikes, which is changing the dynamic of the game in a southward direction. People are getting sick of getting kicked out of goblin games or wasting golden repair hammers because of lag-related instance wipes, and siege is at times a joke and a waste of time. We don't want to see this game go down the tube. We really like this game and thats why we're trying to help with constructive feedback. Don't be defensive about it or play dumb. You know there is an issue, now please do something about it.

Sorry if this is a repost. Osha server lag is really bad again. Many people complaining in world and trade chat. The AH doesn't seem to be working for me at all due to the lag, entering my house takes 10+ seconds. Someone said they were 15mins into siege and then got ported back into their house. Weird stuff going on. Please fix OSHA!

Lag hasnt been great the last few days but has improved considerably for me. One guild member last night was reporting 5+ second lag last night though. Just wanted to share this update should anyone on the admin end be interested in feedback.
