Runes of Magic US / AU

This guide is to help all current or future Indigo server players. As each server has different economies and rules this guide may help others however is built specifically for Indigo.

I. Congrats you have chosen a PVP server!
- There are a few differences that make a PVP server different. On Indigo you can PK (kill a player above level 15) any player if you turn your pk "flag" on. However due to limitations put in place by the game a few years ago PK-ing is not very prevalent. I will not be explaining PVP mechanics here but I will go over how it can help you succeed. Since Rom removed the ability for normal "white reputation" players to drop gear, Indigo is mostly peaceful. There are a couple trolls but they can be easily avoided. This rule change has led to diamond free trade that no other server but Grimdal has. It also means you can own multiple toons that share the same gear if you want to explore other classes.

II. Diamond free trade
- We are fortunate that we have the ability to PK trade gear, potions, or any item that does not say otherwise. This is a HUGE benefit to you. You can buy endgame gear or items you need without the buyer or seller using an ABL. Also there are several items we can trade that a PVE server is unable too at all. This leads to lower prices in general and a game that costs less to play if you are paying and not playing for free. Also for example if you build a Mage and if you want to try Warlock, you can trade all your gear from mage to warlock in about 5 minutes.

III. Economy
- Indigo traditionally has a smaller economy than most if not all US servers. There are two reasons for this. 1. alot of trading is done in person due to PK trading. 2. We have a smaller population. We do however have many players that buy diamonds which at times creates environments friendly to free to play players. At the time or writing diamonds range from 70k - 120k per and good stats can be bought around 15-20m.

IV. Ok, so how do I thrive?
- Indigo has many guilds and all of them are good to start out in. You need to level up before you think about gearing etc. Learn the game, learn your class, ask questions, read the helpful parts of the forums and learn all you can. There are many helpful people on the server that will talk your ear off. Absorb everything you can.

Join Trade chat (/join Trade) most buying and selling offers are published here and other general server news as well as general gossip that can occasionally be helpful.

Once you have leveled you need a way to get gold. If you are free to play this will be by working. Do not think you can be lazy like a pay to play player and be good. Free to play is very easy on Indigo as your stuff will always sell. we have a surplus of paying players that are always buying stuff. Find out what they need and get it (stats, pvp gear,pots...) Eoj farming does not require gear, shell farming does not require much gear.

- Gear up- Staring gathering end game gear. Indigo traditionally has 1 main guild sometimes 2. That does mean the top gear comes from one place. Either join the guild or buy the gear from someone in it. Even if you are in a rival guild, help yourself and your guild by gearing up. Most fully geared players on Indigo want more fully geared players to raid with. Another idea is to buy top notch gear off crazy players. We have some players that redo gear just because the found a way to squeeze in +10 more stamina which leads to them selling perfectly good gear at a fraction of the cost it took them to make it.

In conclusion- Indigo is like early America, it is a great place to start right now and anyone who tries will be successful. Its cheaper than other servers, its a friendly server as we LOVE new people. With a bit of effort our environment is ripe for success.
