Looking for a Guild

I'm thinking about leaving my current guild. The guild isn't very helpful. I'm looking for a friendly guild that doesn't mind helping their guildies out with quests. I'm not saying a guild should just help out on a whim. I know that everyone has their own things going on, but a guild should be willing to help it's members. Not everyone is OP and well statted. Some of us still need help to do certain quests. Seeking a guild that is truly guildie oriented and like a family. Not a bunch of people who are self-centered. Many guilds will say they are helpful, just to get you in. You see the recruiting notices go up in World chat, but unless you try them out you just don't know how well you will fit. Some guilds don't recruit at all, but that does not mean that they are out of the picture. I have found the best way is to ask in zone chat for help with a quest and pay attention to who actually helps and who just trolls. If you right click on any toons name in chat you get their info as to what guild they are with. This way you can get a feel for who is helpful and who is not.

It also depends on timing. If you ask help when 95% of your guild is afk/resting after a tiring siege/instance, or if the majority of the more capable members are currently running an instance, or just during a bad time when tank is afk/not on and you need help with an instance that still needs a tank, you may not find the help you need.

And some guilds use vent most of the time and just don't read guild chat.

Also when you find a person that will help you , ask then questions about the game , nice ppl will answer questions and give you helpful info.

Also for the bad timing Ruisen is talking about , if they use a voice chat that you are not using and they are not reading chat ,try PMing a higher up person for help.
I help everyone I can , but sometimes miss the help request because I didn't see it in guild chat.

don't be afraid to guild hop a bit while you are looking for "the one". like said above, you don't know what goes on in a guild until you are in it. just be blunt when you join ("still looking for guild, this may or may not work", etc...) and u can normally split no hard feelings. heck, you will probably have made some friends from that guild if you ever want to PuG.
