That Other Mentor

Welcome Beren, Welcome Moonlight! It's good to see new Cacti.

I'm Dellenn, and I've been around a bit, though of course not as long as Kalvan, he was here back when RoM was played with rocks and snowferrets drawn in the dirt with a stick. I'm quiet though, I know I don't post as much as I should. I have a nastily full-time Real Job that takes me away from the forums and RoM more than I like.

I've been around since Chapter Two, and I've been a diehard endgamer since Chapter Three. I've seen the good, the bad, the ugly and the sublime in RoM over the years, and made more friends and had more fun than I can even say. A lot of times when people ask us questions, the most common question is, "Do you really play this game?" For me, the answer is a resounding "YES." Too much, probably, and if I'm not here on the forums as much as I should be, it's usually because I'm playing. Work doesn't leave me as much free time as I could want, and if it's a choice between raiding or moderating, I am ashamed to say, I usually choose raiding.

Thankfully, a lot of the time Kalvan does a much better job than me anyway ;)

But I'm still here, and really excited about the new possibilities ICR has opened up, and I'm even more excited by how open and communicative the new folks from Kahrlsruhe are. I think this is going to be a new era of openness and change in RoM, which frankly, we've really needed to see for a long time. ThePit, Mika, Nenysvor, Elayas- they're often available in ICR, and we the mentors are there as often as we can be too, to answer your questions and just shoot the breeze about RoM. If you haven't checked it out, do.

Even though I am quiet, I am watching and listening, and I've come to know a lot of you over the years, and I'm always open to talking about just about anything, so always feel free to shoot me a pm if you have issues. Kalvan and TunaShake are better at computer issues, Yrcanos is better than me at quest issues, but I do my best :D

RoM is, and has been for years now, a big part of my life, and I'm proud to be a part of it, even if it is a little, insignificant part that I play. It's a pleasure to play and work with you all.

Welcome Dellenn.

Hmm, I have used my victim joke already.

Erm. Pointing out that by ICR you probably mean IRC seems cheap and unhelpful.

Saying thank god you're not Canadian would both be racist and, let's face it, you probably are anyway. It seems a trend with Mentors.

Shucks.

I suppose I leave it at thanks for not editing my posts ^^ Look forward to seeing you around.

Welcome I hope you enjoy your stay in here. With regards to your possible inactivity, no worries about it, so far we have sufficient mods, perhaps even too many. ;)

Hmm, I know that Mr. Obvious :) You are from that place that if you follow signs to a Recreation Centre you find a sheep tied to a lamp post ^^

And shame on you for posting such unnecessary correction and not even saying hello, tsk tsk.

Yeah yeah yeah. Laugh it up. IRC is before my time, and I'm older than dirt, so sue me!

Also not from Canuckville, though I hear poutine is good.

Dellenn isn't older than dirt. But I am. :D

IRC is somewhat newer than MS edlin.exe, is about as easy to use, but is less powerful. The only real difference is that IRC can occasionally connect to the InterCatzWebz. :dash:
