Well as you may or may not know, I'm certainly not one to shy away from complaints lol.

But I can't complain about this Epic Weapon questline. These are "Epic Weapons" and should be very difficult, and rare. We shouldn't see tons of people running around with agg'd Epics. I realize that's not what you're suggesting, but the reality of the matter is, that if these were easier to get, that's how things would be.

I think it can be frustrating for people like us who are end game, and have little else to do, but keep working away at getting these items.

Now with that said, there are a couple things I want to add to your post. 80 hours for all the Rune Splinters? Come on, that's a little absurd. Yes, the number (I think it's 30K) is high, but you can sometimes get upwards of 1K per conversion of Raw Material. Some of my guildies had the required amounts in just over an hour of farming. It's NOT that bad.

I hate to add to your frustration, but here's something else you might not have known about the quest line. I got a Core drop from Kalin, but it was the Warrior Epic Weapon Core drop. No problem, right? I can just go to the guy outside Hall of Survivors and exchange it for the right Core. So I went there, and tried to exchange it for Moa's Core of Stealth. The one for the Rogue Epic Weapon. It didn't work, and he told me "You have not the needed material". I thought that maybe instead I had to click on the core that I had, and the conversion worked! But it converted it to Moa's Core of Pity (Priest core). WTF!? So I tried to convert it again. Didn't work. I then had a 24 hr cooldown, in which I'm unable to convert the core again. So yesterday, I went back to Hall of Survivors after my 24hr cooldown expired, and tried to exchange it for the right Core again. Still didn't work. But it did give me another random Core lol. Now I have Moa's Core of Fortitude. So later tonight, I'll be trying again.
What concerns me is that it seems pretty random. So who knows how many tries, before it converts it to the right core? Could be today...could be a month from now lol.

But, I do have all the materials, including the ultra rare Core drop. As far as I'm concerned these weapons should be forgotten about, until you're able to pick up one of the Core's. If you get your hands on a Core, you've got the rarest drop of them all, and you could easily farm the rest of the mats in a day. Either way, I don't blame the Frog for making this so hard. These are supposed to be some of the best weapons in the game. They should be hard to get.

Hopefully it works tonight. I'd like to get my hands on the first Epic Weapon on Artemis. Not sure if there have been any Epic Weapons on other servers yet, but I'm pretty sure this would be the first on Artemis. But the anticipation is KILLING me!

Thanks for adding your thoughts here. I think I will wait for the lvl cap raise to 55, before I get my Elite Skills or try the Epic Weapon quest line LOL

I've not come across another step by step guide for the Epic Weapon quests, so I figured we start with ivankwok's post and build on it.

I didn't know this was going to be moved to the guides section, so that's why I added all those extra comments. lol

But the crux of what I was getting at, was that there is a part of the quest chain that I think most people don't know about, since as far as I can tell, I'm one of the only people if not the only one with a Core.

So just to summarize for guide purposes:

If you get a Core, but it's not the right Core for your class, you can convert it with a Golem outside of the Hall of Survivors (back of Tagena).

The conversion might not work to the correct core, and you'll have a 24hr cool down before you can try another conversion.

*edit* Nope! Didn't work again today. Boy this is fun lol. 4 conversions, 4 failures. We'll try again tomorrow.


*edit #2* So there is a step missing from the guide.

Once you get the core converted (or if you already have the right core) you'll turn it in with all theother mats, and then pick up a quest. The quest will be "R/W/P/S/K/M's Epic Weapon Recreated". In that quest you have to get a drop from the Binpikes. Whether it's a 100% drop rate or not will be tested soon (or later...whenever I get my Core converted).

That drop is then turned in for the Epic Weapon.

If it's anything like the previous parts of the quest, my guess is that it's not a 100% drop rate. How awful the drop rate is, will have to be seen.

Epic quests should be hard not uberguild only.

EverQuest did it right where even the common player could band together and get it done.

How many Rogues would get their Ragebringers in one big party?

When i got mine it took over one hundred helpers for nine Rogues in Kithkor Forest, but due to rare drops nobody but me had the complete quest after the General.

My box dropped the final needed knife and i was told it hadn't dropped in almost four months.

The alternative was farm three bosses for three other daggers to turn in for it.

I had two of them on me but didn't need them.

Rogues actually had one of the easiest Epic 1.0 quests IIRC though. Maybe monks had it easier but it is neck and neck.

Most epics were done by raid guys, because well....some drops were in some rather rough zones PoS/PoF/PoH (Hate 1.0 that is). Most random raids just didn't do well getting to Inny for rangers epic.

Is there any difference in drop rate on MOA between Clops, Kalin and TT?

Maybe everyone who got their MOA item can state here where they got it and in how many runs?

great stats for an offhand which can be clean tierd to 4 or 5 relatively easy but as for the other weapons tiering it up to 7/8/9 clean is really expensive and that sucks unless you just stone it for the stats =/ as main hand the dmg is much more important than stats

We got the very first new weapon in game on Macantacht few days ago. Moa's Devotion.

OMG you are lucky you were in a stupid group. Well not lucky since it was your first time so a better group is not expected

But you can change it for another class core. Did you have anyone with the epic weapon quest in group or can it drop without the quest?

If you had a person with the quest in group I feel kind of sorry for him that you got it. Because if it is the first time you run clops I doubt you will get your lvl 50/50 elite anytime soon. So you won't even use that Core you just got.

Someone has sold the stats from their weapon on my server already, so yes, you can put the stats on a stone.
