Seriously, the other level 50 daggers are 431 base DPS damage... And this is only 429. Not too terribly epic IMHO (granted it is 1.8 vs 2.2 speed). A nice offhander because of the stats, but by the time you farmed for it, you probably can already make something with these stats.

Does anyone know if the quest is repeatable... say if you "lost" the first Epic dagger to a clean mana stone for implanting the stats into something else???

Quest is not repeatable. You can only do it once per class.

Thoughts:

Is modding a Frigid Wild Blade (Blue sword from quest) a better option:

Starts with unstatted +28 Sta, +35 Dex. And Dex X.

I supposed you could rip the stats off the epic and put them on this to trade for one extra stat (thus making a better offhander). Wonder what stat you would be giving up... If its one of the Str and P Attack I think it would be worth the extra 140 HP. You would also end up with a 160 Dex bonus that way instead of 90.

If its Breakthrough that gets hosed, you lose 10 HP, but still gain 70 Dex (in trade for 30 STR).

Ideally of course, you would lose the Dex X (yeah right) and just add 140 HP and 35 Dex bonus.

What are you talking about? Right click a moa core?
Getting a third core unless you are solo and without friends is really stupid so doubt someone has done it.

I've tried right-clicking my weapons as well and they both say that "You haven't obtained approval. The spirit inside this weapon refuses to answer your call."

Haven't seen anything about how to proceed with that, but it's probably something to do with the second part of the epic weapon quest. It may be unlocked with completion of the new Varanas public encounter or possibly released with the lvl 55 content (though they already said part 2 of the epic weapon quest was in game).

No idea though.

Mobs in the Royal's Refuge in the Ystra Labyrinth drop the splinters, as well as unprocessed rune splinters that can be turned into a lot of them in the central base camp.

so got my core tonight. went to golem to convert. he kept saying i was lacking some material. then i selected to convert to the same core and he did it. and converted it to same core. is that jsut the darndest anti-luck? or am i doing soemthing incorrectly?
i have core of art and tryign to convert to stealth and he wouldnt accept the stealth covnersion request only accepted art click

why bother :) third mob i killed in HOTO droped a 55 purple staff that was better then the epic anyway..


runes failed horribly on this one.

the whole tiering system to is BORKED .. you must destroy your stats unless you want to spend thousands of us dollars to tier the wepon clean..

ok so is it worth keepign the stats?

no since one level in tier above what you clean your weapon to will give a far far higher return on your damage out put then the stats you keep by clean tiering would.

a t9 dirty epic vs a t8 clean the t9 will do far more damage.. so in the end stats mean nothing compared to wepon damage..... a messed up system wich clearly shows that clean tiering is not worth doing.

Not as bad as perfect world

Yah like this is nothing compared to the Ultimate weapons in Perfect World, It took, literally half a year doing nothing but farming for the mats that it took to make the weapon, granted it wasnt a drop, you just made it.

Just got my core, and am 5 days away from being able to get my elites. Can someone rundown the materials needed again, and how to go about getting 30000 rune splinters or whatever they are? Thanks

The rune splinters drop from mobs in the Royal's Refuge corridor in the Ystra Labyrinth. You can get individual ones, or certain elites drop bags of unprocessed runes that give you anywhere from 200-999 splinters. You process them, and trade the splinters in for the craftsman certificates, at the NPC standing by the anvil in the central camp in Royal's Refuge.
